Were they watching the same match

From the player points marking (giving Lyle Taylor MOM ) to the report on the match makes me think they were watching a different game. What a load of tosh.

I have not read the article but one thing to say  :boxing:

No way was Taylor MOTM. There were at least 7 Rovers players in front of him for starters without starting to add his Team mates as well

They usually give the MOTM to the best player on the winning side, not necessarily the best player in the game. Better TV to interview a winner than a loser

On the way to Charlton I had a look at the BBC match preview.
Heavily biased in favour of CAFC and written in a way that made me think we might as well not bother turning up.

MOTM was Tommy Rowe by a mile.
Agree. Really hope he stays.

In which case it should have been a Rovers player...

The Sky Sports write up doesn't even try to be even handed. It says Butler scored against the run of play. The video highlights show the Marquis handball incident from several angles but don't show our three stonewallers. I am still shaking my head at how the ref could have missed that shove on Marquis the give a foul for the challenge by Butler. We've had some shocking decisions this season but that beats the lot by a country mile.

Bit of a daft way of doing it then

If we'd lost the first leg 0-6, then we'd won 5-0 last night, they'd have looked like a reight set of bell ends making Taylor MoM.

As it is, they look like a reight set of bell ends making Taylor MoM.

Why would Sky be bitter about Leeds losing? Really.

Sky have two main bases, London and Leeds.

Whatever people write, it doesn’t change facts. Those that watched it know.

The comment that caught my attention was about our "ill received time wasting tactics"  Why would you when you need to score to level the tie and Butlers equaliser " against the run of play" when we were the only team who looked like scoring. God forbid we might have the cheek to win and spoil the chance to have a re run of the 1998 Sunderland/ Charlton final

f**k them, it's always been this way. We're too small and unfashionable to ever get our due from the likes of the BBC or Sky. I love proving them wrong time and again, it adds to our successes if anything.

From my point of view there was always talk about "bias" from Referees in our Conference years - along the lines of "they" dont want us to go up. Never knew if "they" meant the FA or the Refs

In truth I dont think the Refs were biased just that they were very poor whichever game they took charge of. The only thing they always got right was dissent. Largely they still are poor and we are much higher up the pyramid - but the only thing they almost always get right is players taking their shirts off after scoring = Yellow Card

The media thing is the same. The big Clubs still get the biggest coverage and the Clubs like us only get their heads above the parapet when on a Cup run or something similar

Often there are complaints re Look North and their Leeds bias but they covered Sheff U and Barnsleys "celebrations" equally and without favour. They would have done the same for us and indeed did a huge piece on our First leg game v Charlton

They covered Leeds spectacular "failure" as well rather than just reporting it as Leeds lost and sweeping it under the carpet - and they will give them lots of coverage going forwards - but Sheff U should be in for good representation as well as they are now Prem Lge

So the Media in general dont have an agenda against Rovers any more so than they so Plymouth Shrewsbury or Scunny (imo) - and it will continue that way unless nd until we and they join the "big boys"
... and though I have said this many times Harry Gration supports York City NOT Leeds

It has always been the same in recent years.

The BBC report of the first leg was typical. On Taylor's opening goal he 'stooped to head home'. Blair on the other hand somehow managed to 'bundle the ball home'.

Sky, The Beeb (and increasingly it seems the Footie authorities) don't really want Doncaster, Grimsby, Wycombe, Exeter and the like taking up valuable air time and coverage that could be devoted to the big glamorous boys.

Look at the BBC Football pages now. No links to League One and League Two although I can easily find what Barcelona, Real, Juventus and their ilk have been doing.

What irks me (while on this subject) is why BBC see fit to have the Scottish Premier League right after out PL - and demoting the Championship with all its big Teams and huge Gates to below the SPL

Have a look - it cant be right surely

Whoever wrote that sky piece can't have even seen the game. Even the commentators, who started out biased towards Chartons favour, were very complimentary about rovers all the way through the second half. Timewasting, my arse.

I read somewhere that Leeds have been on Sky more than any other team this year.

All true, but remember that those "BBC" reports are not done by the BBC. They buy them in from the Press Association.

Leeds will be. Sky have exclusive rights to FL games and they’re the biggest club what probably attracts the biggest TV audience.

John Helm followed Bradford PA in his younger days. No idea who Harry Gration follows, not that I really care tbh.
