About to sign a 2 year deal. BTW, it’s the Reece James from Sunderland and not the Reece James from Chelsea as I first (excitedly!!) assumed!!

Is he?

Not sure about that.

Not an overly impressive signing especially when you factor in we’ve paid a fee for him.

On the face of it a solid signing.  As ever we'll see how he fits in with us.

We should trust Mccann's signings though, his record is decent.

He couldn’t get into the Sunderland squad at the end of the season. Steady player though. Proven at L1 level.

Jesus, the inks not dry and the criticism starts! Maybe let the Rovers know which players do overly impress you and there’ll nip out and sign them for you?

Yeah 2 assists in nearly 30 games and 0 goals. Although Sunderland were a bit defensive last season.

He’s a full back not sure he’s goalscoring prowess is important

We're an attacking team which full backs get high up and get crosses in so his lack of assists does make you question his creativity. We'll obviously see more and know more in the coming weeks.

20 minutes after the announcement of his signing and some have already concluded he’s not right for us.

TDF time:

"We never pay money for players. We should pay money for players"

"Why have we paid money for this player?"

He got injured and was displaced by Bryan Oviedo, someone who has spent most of his career in the Premier League.

If he stays fit, I think James will be a really good signing for us. Got plenty of experience at this level, playing for bigger clubs than Rovers. Perfect age too.

It seems he wants to play for us, a criteria the management want. We paid a fee for him, which we never do according to some people. He won’t fit in, he isn’t attacking etc etc.
I welcome him to our club. Seems some people are never ever satisfied. People need to get a life, grow up and support the team and club rather than constantly criticising. Or go and support another team.

Big improvement at left back, someone who knows how to defend. He's won promotion twice from this league with Wigan so knows what's needed. Mate up north said we've got a right player, In McCann we trust.

TDF time:

"Why have we paid money for this player?"

Because we wasted to much time on convincing Andrew. (A DF player) He was a free but just signed a one year extension so we had to pay a fee. If he’s not a very good player he’s replaceable.

Don't know the first thing about him. Wiki says he's 5'7 so let's hope he can jump like a salmon. Always thought the forumla for league one was big buggers.

What's wrong with pointing out a player that is better defensively than attacking in an attacking team might possibly not be the best choice. But like I said I've probably seen him a couple times and can't remember him so don't want to write him off.

Grant McCann seems to be vary good at adding value through coaching.  We could have a real gem here!

I can see him being a top notch signing when he get's into the McCann way of doing things.
