The Great Betrayal
« on June 22, 2019, 12:07:10 am by Prince_Moncrieffe »
I mean we’re all hurting with this. But it does feel like a betrayal to me.

After all his language and rhetoric about ambition, loyalty and having players who want to be here. He thinks he’s better than small old Donny Rovers and goes for the ‘big’ move. Such a joke given present conditions at Hull of course.

What will it take for a manager to realise that they are not bigger than the club itself ? Who immediately springs to mind is SOD. He never thought himself bigger than club in my opinion.

But I guess the point is will our club ever grow to the next level unless the board takes a manager seriously (contract length ) or a manager takes us seriously by turning down that offer from a bigger team when they do come calling. How can we avoid this in the future ? Do we have any control at all to stop this happening ?

It’s easy to stop the big boys calling ...... don’t be successful, finish middle to lower third, and play unattractive football

Lincoln have been possible the most successful lower league club in England over the last 4/5 years. And they’ve managed to keep hold of their managers

Whilst he did a great job last season I think it’s a reality that he seems to have left the club in a far worse position than he found it; at least on the playing side of things.
