Can some people pleeeaassse stop the “He was a good player and he played for DRFC so he must be a good candidate for the managers job”
. Why not ask Peter Kitchen or John Oster. It’s absolute nonsense

People like the familiar and it's easy to have knowledge of doncaster players etc than people we've never seen. However i agree been a former player shouldn't have any baring on the appointment

The difference is SOD has a proven record as a good manager as opposed to some of the names mentioned such as Stock,Wellens etc

I think SO'D would make a good director of football were the club to go with a recently retired ex-player with minimal experience.  Can't see it happening tho as the board will want someone with decent experience.

Adkins could be a good shout.

Adkins has spent the last decade managing in the Premier League and Championship. It is extremely unlikely he will want to return to League One with a club that will have to work hard for promotion. Less than 5pc chance of him coming here folks.
