Is my wish nasty
« on June 22, 2019, 11:08:10 pm by Upton Rover »
I wish that Hull City never win a game this year and they sack GM before Christmas. That's the only presant that I want this year. He's sold us down the river and shit on us from a great height and I only wish the twisted Irish git the worse of luck. You see he pissed some of our best players off by been big headed and refusing to pay them a salary that they deserved. Talked like he was some hero that made a lot of fans look up to him when all that he was was a big headed git that wanted everything his way and would not back down if any player challanged him in any way. I 4 one never admired him and glad he's moved on and hope Hull do sweet f A. Also 1 thing when ever did GM ever had a repour with the Doncaster fans. On your way you Irish joke.

I don't think that you need to be to harsh on Hull by saying that they don't win a game this year (season i presume ).
Lose maybe 12 on the trot and he'll be gone.

I don't think you are harsh if that's how You feel it affects different people different ways I hate McCann for what he has done to us.  Some on here are OK with it, it's not up to anyone to tell you how you should feel

You hate him? Young manager snaps up what he sees as an opportunity to progress, and you hate him?
I really dont see what people think he owes Rovers? He came, did his job and got us in the playoffs and to the 5th round of the fa cup - what more does he owe us? Blood?

Read my post if you can't read it it says what Upton rover and I think is absolutely nothing to do with you or anyone else, but the wets on here will not have anything bad said about anything rovers and that is just as unhealthy as saying something bad

I don’t hate anybody. Don’t agree what Grants done. But as bobjimwilly says he’s a young manager who as taken rightly or wrongly an opportunity to progress his career. We had a good season and due to his and the teams success he has been headhuntered. He says he is ambitious why could he not achieve that ambition here. He moved to a Championship club who appear not to be good financially yet he left us. He could have put a side together to gain promotion this season. Yet he chose to leave to what appears to a poorly run club saying he is ambitious. We move on let’s see what we do this season and prove he made the wrong decision.

Hate is a very strong word.  I don't like the way its been done and timing is certainly not good but I understand why he has done it.
I'm as passionate about Rovers as the rest of you but I do think we need to take a step back and be more rational. In the context of worldwide events that I really do hate this becomes a minor inconvenience.

Yes it is!
It’s a tirade of personal toxic opinions based primarily on your emotional state..
It’s narrow minded and ill informed,

However .....it is your opinion so I won’t comment negatively

Channel less emotional energy towards Hull (not their fans of players fault} and more into positive energy into our own club. Believe that the board will make the best appointment possible as soon as possible.

When the players get back to Pre season training, do you think Copps will be whinging and moaning or being positive and helping others?

Upton, hate is a bit strong but I agree with 90% of what you say and feel. And as for Hull, they took him from us instead of going for another manager. so yes, I will be following them this season in the hope that both they and McCann fail.

It will be interesting to see if McCann  turns up at the not-so-friendly on Sat 27th July.

Copps probably won't be be whinging and moaning because I don't expect he was expected to take a pay cut like other players who have opening said why they left.

Why bother about how he and Hull do, apart from the fact that they are a fairly local side who are led by our ex manager.
When someone comes along and offers to more or less double your wages, honestly wouldn't you take the chance, and the way  I view it, it is a chance, as people have pointed out, his new owners will only accept success, not the easiest thing to accomplish in football management, but something Grant feels he can deliver and make a better life for himself and his young family.
He has gone to Hull, a great city, with more going for it than people in this country realise, but mostly ignored, it would be interesting to ask people in most of the country to stick a pin in a map and say where it was situated much like Middlesborough.
My main hope for Grant is, if he uses the M18 to travel to his new employment, every time he passes junction three, his thoughts are, bloody hell I dropped a right bollock leaving the Rovers, and I think there is a good chance he will.

It's only human nature, Selby. Beating Peterborough this coming season will be extra sweet knowing that Ferguson dumped us and went there. And knowing that Hull lose and McCann might regret dumping Rovers will also be extra sweet. As petty as it may be, that's the way some people will feel.

Hate is too strong a word - it's only football.
I'm as disappointed as most Rovers fans and I think GM has made a grave error of judgement. I work with City fans and they say that the club has been a mess for years and they will be surprised if they are not in a relegation fight this season. There is open hostility between fans and board and most of their best players want away.

Can we leave McCann's nationality out of this please.  Racism, no matter how casual, wont be tolerated.

By all means be peed off at what he has done, or be fine with it, but his nationality has no bearing at all.

I think that the issue with most fans is the timing aspect. You then add his comments about only wanting to have people here that want to be here.
These are the disappointing aspects and to my mind don't show him in too good a light as far as honesty goes.

The only issue I have with the opening post you called him a twisted Irish git - an incendiary statement at the best of times considering he comes from a firmly Unionist background & we don’t want to open that particular Pandora’s Box on here -

Personally I think McCann has been naive because I don’t see his appointment as being long term first bit of a bad run & he’ll be out on his ear
