He scored 16 goals, entertained us and wound fergie up. What more do you want from a player🙄

Much rather him sign for Barnsley than Hull. Frustrating at times (not as much towards the end of the season) but by Christ can he play.

That Rochdale full back that moved to Scunny will still be having nightmares about Mallik, ripped him a new arshole 10 times over that day

Tyke - the way that Barnsley develop players, coupled with Mallik’s talent means you could have just ended up with another gem.
Make sure he moves to the area away from his Leeds past
Good luck

Got to agree with above comments, he was a joy to behold when he was in full flow, and frustrating as hell some other times. Still, if you don't try things, how do you know whether you can do them or not. All part of the learning curve I suppose. Anyway, congratulations Tyke, so pleased he is with you and not Dull. I hope he can entertain you lot at Oakwell as much as he did while he was with us. Gives us "Pikey's" something to smile about when driving through your Metropolis!! Good luck for the season ahead.

What’s the betting that GM comes out in the press and says Wilks didn’t have the right attitude and he only wants players who want to be at Hull?

Chickens coming home to roost for McCann - totally embarrassing that Dull couldn’t compete with a promoted League One team to get players in -

Last 20 years I'd say without looking Barnsley have been in a higher league than Hull? Similar crowds now and nearer home probably a know brainer

Re your first point, Hull have been promoted to the PL 2 or 3 times in that period. Admittedly Hull were in the bottom tier for a few years at the turn of the century but Hull have definitely been the more successful team over the past 10-15 years.

That said, Barnsley is a club that has a proven track record of developing young players and Hull’s owners are trying to sell up so I wouldn’t be surprised if Barnsley actually offered him higher wages, so I don’t think it’s that surprising a choice to make.

Nah, Hull have been a better and more financially capable team for at least the last 15 years now, compared to Barnsley.

He was great in flashes but let’s be honest, he could be extremely frustrating. If he’s going to cut it at the level above he must improve the basics and Become much more consistent. He’s got potential but by no means is he anywhere near the finished article.

This. I'll be surprised if he plays 100 league games in his entire career.

If you believe Wiki he’s already played 70 league games..

Whether he succeeds at Barnsley or not, he’s young enough to play a lot more than that..

I'd be surprised if he doesn't play more than 100 games. Infact I would be gobsmacked.

In a nutshell, he was good against mediocre left-backs but struggled against good ones in league one. In the Championship, the mediocre left-backs will be equivalent to the good ones he came up against in league one, and the good ones will make him struggle even more.

I still expect Mallik to improve this season as he becomes more experienced.
