What would people think, if Emma Hayes was one of the people on the shortlist???

Good, if she can do the job and is the best candidate get her in.

Agree  - don’t think Emma Hayes would consider moving up north though.
Another thing to bear in mind (only because it would be new, happens all the time in the real world though) is maternity, I think EH stepped away for a while. A decent assistant would be invaluable

Why.?
It would be a ridiculous gamble. Managing womens football is totally different and as far as i can see shes never managed a mens team.
Do you think she would get the respect from the players? Seriously?

If a woman was appointed as a result of a robust process - that the players were aware of - then yes, they should respect the manager.

It'd be devastating if Copps got it by the same logic.

Times are changing and all for the better. Not so long ago there would have been uproar (from some) at the idea of a black manager. If a woman was the best person for the job, no problem in my book.

Is there any woman managers in any male league football from semi-professional football up that anyone knows of?

Awww jeeez the “ ridiculous notion “ Gang are going all out celebrating there PC friendly approach to serious debate...

IT WONT HAPPEN,! for a long long time.........I’m not saying they can’t be coaxed away from Corrie for a few hours to manage a footy match,...but it just  won’t happen whilst there is big bucks riding on promotion/relegation issues....

I wouldn’t be devastated when the time comes for a Lady to Manage a football team....but that’s a long way away....

How many would welcome the rule of having 3 females in the first team squad ?

Didn’t that Cerise’s Lunghi Lady have a couple of seasons managing a footy team?

Spit it out .....what is the criteria to be “ the best person for the job”

This should be the most interesting reply I’ve read.....

I think a Tibetan Monk would make a good football manager,  but I’m sure there are some on here that would recognise that he may not be qualified, especially if he appointed a goat has is no2

It's a tight ship now isn't it? just a few years back we might as well sat in on the interviews we knew so much that was going on.
Now it looks like we know bugger all, not even for certain who the interviewees are, even the rumour mill has come to a standstill.

What in god's name are you blathering on about. It already has happened - in the French League and the Irish league if you care to widen your view a little.

To address your silly point at the end the answer its pretty obvious, no one would welcome it because there are physiological differences between men and women at a general level. Such differences have no bearing on being a successful manager, however, so in theory there should be equal opportunity for all sexes. It's not quantum physics.

It being unlikely to happen is nothing to do with gender. It's the simple fact that there are hardly any female coaches/assistant managers or other similar positions filled by women.

Lol you are a funny one....

I accept that some nations will attempt these silly things because they want to be the butt of the joke...
However,
To address your non addressing my silly point, I actually asked how many on here would be up for the idea of 3 women in a first team squad.....I don’t need to know the physiology of the dilemma, just whether you are  a yay or nay to the idea.....I personally would welcome with open arms the idea of a woman or two playing in the premiership, it would certainly curb the play acting...I mean a woman looking scornfully, hands on hips shaking her head sympathetically would make great tv viewing....there are so many plus points for the introduction of women into the game , I’m shocked that it’s not being eagerly debated,

I’m assuming that’s a definite no to women playing in the men’s team..?

...awww bless you seemed so “pro female everything”  for a moment...good to see you have a level of “ unacceptability “

I wasn’t going to dignify your posts with a response but you either have no idea or you are a WUM..

Of course, it is feasible for a woman to manage a mans team regardless of how likely that may be.

Mixed football as players.? No, that stops after primary school for reasons stated before.

The list of five interviewees has now grown to nine people according to our posters.

Do I need to call you a f**kwit or can I assume that you’re singing ‘I’m a f**kwit’ to yourself all day long?
