Well, my thoughts on the 1st half:

Gillingham the better team, they look sharper, taller, and stronger.
Rovers play has ALL comes through Copps. He's the only creative player there which is worrying.
Sadlier was completely out of the game until his goal. Poachers finish, and a good one.
Forward line up is too small (Sadlier, May, Coppinger). Unless its on the deck we have no chance (this must be a real concern for Moore).
Defensively we've had a few shaky moments (but could be early season jitters)
Stand out player for Rovers has been Copps, with Sheaf looking very solid.
Sheaf is doing the job we previously saw Whiteman doing so I don't know what Whiteman's role is now really.
Gomes looks off the pace to me, sloppy passing, mis controls, and blowing out of his arse I noticed in the last 5/10 minutes.

until the goal I was really worried, hopefully the turning point.

May and Gomes need taking off. May missing in action and Gomes not good enough

It’s the first game though and we are still building the squad.. Anderson and Copps standing out for me..  Gomes not looking great yet - but it’s unfair to be too critical this early..

Agreed.. limp.. lacklustre. No creativity at all and still not sure what Whitemans role is

Baptiste looking a bit ropey imo. Everyone else done ok considering we’ve got to gel. Always knew we’d be light up front but when we’ve got the ball down we look ok

That was a brilliant goal (vid attached here), Copps and Sadlier in tune and the most sweet and perfect execution from both.

Copps was given some time on the ball there, I imagine Evans will be giving instruction to close him down quick, and hard. I fear for an injury.

We’re getting none of the 50/50 decisions

Yes, Ennis looks a great prospect. Been really good since coming on.

This ref is doing his best to stop it though by being utterly useless

Two good chances at the end, May after a good run, cuts inside but straight at keeper. Then ball worked into middle for Whiteman but drags it a foot wide

Which May one.?  The one a bit before was going into the far corner..

First half we were very disjointed without many ideas.

Second half was much better. Played some good stuff and could have grabbed a winner.

Overall a decent point given the lead up to the season

Good second half. Gillingham were hanging on the last 15. Not going to judge any of the players badly at this stage. Alfie gets better. Ennis looks some prospect. He put a great sliding tackle in, and played a sublime cross field ball. He’s a big lad too. I’m reasonably happy all things said.

Didn’t look from where I was sat like it was going into the corner and looked a bit central as the keeper didn’t seam to have to dive for it. Either way, the build up run from him was excellent and deserved a goal

Not a bad game, but not a good one either. DM has plenty of work to do to get the team to playing

Onwards and upwards
