Joey Barton, carrying the flame for the unheard. Should go down well should he ever find himself locked up in a prison cell with an 18 stone felon who demands the top bunk!

A game we showed fight, the will not to be intimidated and bullied, and one we could have easily lost if we did't keep our shape, something we did very well, and basically every plyer played a part in the victory.
We were up against a team that are used to winning football games over the last few seasons, are up to every trick in the book, are capable of playing some good football, and look to leave something on the players of the p if necessary, and like to take advantage of set pieces, and we coped with it well I thought.
There was a marked difference in the team work interplay from last week, and we looked as if we were working hard on the training pitch on organisation, and the central defenders are playing very well., Gomes doing a job, and both loan youngsters up front have pace and no little skill.
So we have beaten two decent sides at home in two week, not a bad start, but a lot of improvement needed, if we are to threaten the top teams over the season.
Although a young side we are not a push over for teams that have more experience when it comes to putting a foot in as the last two games have shown, and look as though we can look after ourselves on the physical side.
A good start to the season, but now other sides will start to look for the chinks in our armoury, and things will get tougher, its going to be exciting, and if we get the right additions we could be a team to reckon with.

Game management in the last ten mins was evident and good to see. We have given away poin S in many other similar games before.

Under Ferguson it was abysmal. In 17/18 season we were continually conceding late goals and losing all manner of points as a result.
