Considering it's teams like Fiorentina wanting Duncan on loan, I don't think we can compete for him somehow.

We need experience anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if the signing ended up being someone we haven't even mentioned, if signings like Taylor and Sterling are anything to go by.

He’d go a good job for us in the short term. We would be his 22nd transfer/loan move. Wow!

If true, I think he would be a good fit considering the way he plays. The only question mark is is head. Is he still hungry and motivated enough?

I trust DM's judgement and hope he's looked him in the eye and asked the right questions of him.

Come on guys it’s easy to identify the target the hard part is getting it over the line. As soon as we know something so will you guys, everyone is working hard things could change in next hour or two.

For me I’m ok with what we have rather than paying over the top for someone that is either temporary or is ending their career

I can't help but think...let's keep the Marquis money and save it or invest in long term youth development. Don't want to see us become a Bury.

Agree completely. If Clarke is cheap(ish) and Sheff Utd want half his wages gone then he’s worth it. If not wait for the right player. Come January a huge amount of players will enter the shop window.

Am I right in thinking the deadline is on Monday, and is for both permanent and loan signings?

I have lost interest in the whole saga to be honest. If the player wants to come then he'll come but you do wonder if he will have the right attitude if he only arrives as we are a last resort for him.
We want someone that can buy into the club and I know that players are mercenaries but some clearly do have an affinity to our club and it's ideals.

So you're saying that you want to make sure we bring in players that want to play for Doncaster Rovers first and foremost and then finances second.....................  sure I've heard that mentioned by someone else.......

Is this not just another example of the sick state of football today .With such big money being earned at top the lower league clubs are having to endure such arduous negotiations to prise away even those at the tail end of lucrative careers .Bale ,Sanchez are just prime  examples of the greed now polluting downstream .

Any player would enjoy playing with the young talent DM has assembled. Sooner or later they have to realise they've got to enjoy it while they can. I'm sure with DM, Copps and the rest of the squads help, the enthusiasm will rub off.

Not necessarily but I would rather have someone wanting to play here than be content to sit out their contract at a bigger club. I know that they have a living to make but does our target really want to come or is he just sat waiting for a better offer?
If he signs at the last minute because nothing better turns up I just hope that in his interview holding our shirt up he doesn't say I couldn't wait to join this club.🤔

I'd be happy if we stuck with what we have until January, unless DM has his eyes on a youngster we can buy and develop, or we can get the likes of Clarke on a cut price wage.

Based on Moore's words at the weekend, the player is keen to come here and it's just sorting a deal with the club that is holding it up. So any question of commitment or enthusiasm from the player is probably unfounded.

and Billy Sharpe returning ???   i've learned to never say never to any possibility of anything happening

just remembered Man City were apparently prepared to loan 5 kids to bury - it makes you wonder if any of them were strikers ??

Yeh but they would not be allowed to play 2 games a week according to the Bolton rules.

It won’t be Winnall he’s not the striker we require to lead the line. If we can get the striker that DM wants then he will make sure we are all happy.
