Lose today and the manager might put his jacket on and go ??

Marquis starts on the bench (getting splinters) which in a way was to be expected ?

Totally forgot who is the Gills manager if jacket went I could see Evans getting the job.

0-0 at the moment

Downing is also on the bench !!

Looking like we did well to get over a million for marquis at this moment.

Not really. He was our top scorer for three seasons running and we didn’t use any of that money to bring in a replacement or strengthen the team.

JM subbed after 58 mins today -- booked in the first half and Portsmouth lost 1-0 to "rabble"

does the manager want his jacket as he leaves the building ?

I read the match report and JM had a brilliant opportunity to score after 18 minutes when he was put clean through with a defence-splitting pass and was one-on-one with the keeper but pulled his shot wide......

I feel sorry for the lad. It’s not working for him at the moment.
I bet he’s missing Rovers.

Yes hound (welcome back mate) they have made a surprisingly poor start and their fans are not happy.
Big pressure on their manager unless results change soon.

Cheers Pancho, yep I agree about the pressure on Jacket.
Unless things improve quickly he could be gone by Christmas.

Looking at it another way,we had 20 pts after 12 games last season with JM,this season we have 19 pts after 12 games without him and have made improvements to Cantley park and brought Jon taylor, and we may get a much needed striker or 2 in Jan.

Interesting stat that Drover (about the points from 12 games).
If we win the game in hand we have over most teams we will be nicely positioned in the top six.

I think if Ennis was ours people would be happy. The fact we don't own a good forward asset is what hurts folks.

If there’s a change of manager whose to say Marquis will be his sort of player?

It’s a short career. I hope you start notching up the goals soon John.

It would not bother me if marquis never scored a goal again. He is not our player anymore.

I too feel sorry for him.
But this is nothing new. He missed plenty of chances here but luckily for him we always created plenty more.

Sounds like he’s not getting that anymore.

I disagree with that as he would still score goals here. He is realising the grass is not greener, he needs the games to perform or he is a lost soul

jon taylor, for me, is key to having a terrific season, his pace and energy down the wing. Cross after cross, plus chipping in with vital.goals as well...a constant threat..
