The Penalty

ND,
I will admit to making a wrong decision in an highly competitive game against my own club and a team from a rough side of Aylesbury. I was up with play and there was a questionable tackle a short distance away from my position. unfortunately due to the number of players around the incident  I couldn't see the tackle. A father was shouting abuse and the issue was turning sour on the pitch. Eventually I got the game going again and finished successfully. At the end of the game I pulled our player to one side and asked for an explanation of the incident. His words were "If you had seen the tackle you would have sent me off" my foot went over the ball and into the other players leg. Out of character for our boy but it should have been a red card, I got it wrong by being in the wrong position. It happens and when you get linesmen who are not exactly independent life is difficult at times.
