I think he was a tad unlucky, after all he was only a yard and half away form the ball.
Just seen the goals on Sky. The challenge from Daniels was a last ditch attempt to stop the player scoring. Perhaps he could have taken another stride and blocked the shot rather than diving in. We’ll never know what went through his mind, but he was fortunate not to get a red card and it was only the new ‘double jeopardy’ rule that saved him. I couldn’t see the build up to the second goal, but it seemed to be a similar situation to Portsmouth’s first goal against us at the Keepmoat, where everyone had gone up for a corner, leaving only one player back and that player (Halliday this time) not being strong enough to get the ball clear leaving two of their players with a free run in on goal.
