Nice thoughts AL, but the moment Johnson put No Deal back on the table all bets are off.

This is where the UK went wrong in the past by saying we would not just walk away. It's bound to focus their minds more to make them more reasonable to our requirements.
It will not die down for a while yet. The losers have took three and a half years to come to terms with their first loss up to press, they have got to find something else to crow about yet. Not an easy thing to do when you haven't a lot else to do with your time.

IF it works, and it's a big IF. But if it fails he has left himself nowhere to go - and that would be disastrous for the country. One of the principal rules in negotiations is 'never threaten to do something you know will hurt you if it has to be done, without a way out'. And I've conducted a very large number of successful negotiations over the years.
At the end of the day, had the referendum outcome been to remain then we wouldn’t have had to be discussing this subject. On the home political scene I don’t think there is a snowball in hells chance of the other Parties supporting the government through the Brexit negotiations.Point scoring opportunities are to be had.

Regardless of personal political preferences what is done is done and we should all hope for the best outcome for Britain. Had Labour won the election I would have hoped that they would have done the best for us all and would have wished them well in their efforts.

Perhaps we could arrange a Remainers v Leavers Christmas day football match reminiscent of the WW1 England/Germany Christmas day truce in 1914. Just to appease the Remainers, in the event of a Leave win we could re-play the game on Boxing day.

All us remoaners will just wait 20+ years like those who lost the first EU referendum in 1975 and never "got over it"And threatening the EU with no deal is like promising someone you will shoot yourself in the head before shooting them
