Remembering those we have lost in 2019
« on December 17, 2019, 08:39:08 pm by 1879Rovers »
I see they are doing it ahead of the Sunderland game on 29th December.

My dad will have his name on the screen but I cannot make the game. I know in the past, fans have posted the pictures of the names on the screen on here.

Will anyone be doing it this year?

I won't be at the Sunderland game either, otherwise, I'd have filmed it. Hopefully, someone will do it for you.

I think we should ask the club to do it.

Do you want me to ask?

You can submit your mum's name to the e-mail address media@clubdoncaster.co.uk according to the club website.

I sent them my Grandad's name this afternoon so hopefully they received it and are collating the list over the next few days. I believe the announcement said fans had until the 23rd of December to submit names.

That would be fantastic if you can. As a family we are scattered all over the place including abroad so I would love to be able to send a picture to everyone.

I emailed the club yesterday and have not had a reply. Wonder whether to email again ? Can you ask SM ?

They didn't reply to me either. I presume they have received a fair few submissions and, since it will be a task in addition to all of the usual responsibilities of the media department then they won't have found time to reply to everyone individually.

It might be good if SM or someone were able to clarify with the club that they have received the submissions though.

Agreed, it would be nice to know for certain.

Don't worry it will get done.

I spoke to the club earlier today about another issue and forgot about this one, sorry.

But I have fired off an email asking them to do it. So don't worry, the club are now aware.

I have a meeting scheduled before this Saturdays game as well, so plenty of opportunities to get the message across.

OK, I've heard back from the club and there are plans in place to record this and make it available by website and YouTube.

Luke has sent me a link that shows last years and the intention is for this years to be similar.

Has anyone else had a message saying that the e-mail address is not valid?

I’ve tried e-mailing but got the above message, then tried again without getting the message the second time but am not confident that the e-mail has found its way through.

Just checked my outbox and neither mail has send?

I didn't have any problems sending the e-mail from my side. Did you definitely type it in correctly?

I didn't receive a reply regarding my own e-mail to them submitting a relative's name, so still not sure if they received it. It would be good if the media department could find the time before next weekend's game to confirm that they have received and noted people's information.

I copied and pasted it from the official site.

I had it first time around. It was because I left the full stop on the end.

Thanks 1879 - looks like that was the issue, I’ve sent it without the full stop and it’s now in my sent folders. 👍

I’ve only just seen this. Sent an email this morning and am hoping it will be picked up (edit update - it has). It would mean the world to me and my mum if my dad’s name is included in the list.

Well supported by everyone. SAFC fans joined in too as I think they did same tribute last home game

Big up to them and for knowing how to pronounce Library correctly unlike other visitors recently

Looking forward to seeing it on the YouTube Channel. Gutted I couldn't be there to see my old mans name yesterday.

It’s such a great gesture and means so much to those of us that have lost loved ones that loved the club with us.

I’d be grateful if someone could share the YouTube clip on here when it’s published as my mum would like to see it too. I tend to miss these things on other sources.

I got a photo of my old mans name on it yesterday. It was sent to my brother, my mum is currently visiting him for Christmas, he said it brought a tear to her eyes.

Full credit to the club for this, I have to say I struggled a little to hold it together when I saw my Grandad's name on the screen. It was a very well observed applause from all corners of the ground too.

Anybody know if there is a video clip of this? My mum would love to see it. I had a look but couldn’t find one.
