Overall squad, or match day squad?
Quote from: dickos1 on January 06, 2020, 07:19:55 pmThere is no issue whatsoever with signing loan players, non at all. But our squad needs strengthening and we can only add one player to the squad if we only sign loans. So by default we can’t only sign loan players in jan as this would mean we’re only signing one player which is obviously nowhere near enough Yes, of course we are limited to the number of loans so, we will always require a core of contracted players however, as said before, if DM sees fit to utilise the loan system to the max by acquiring players of better quality and for less than it would by permanent signings, then that should be fine by everyone. Yes, we hope to see some evidence of maybe both in the not too distant future. DM knows he will have to manage contracts short term and long term. If he thinks he can manage recruitment in the summer using the same principles who are we to judge other than what we see on the pitch. What makes my blood boil is comments like one I saw on a tweet from Liam Hoden when he was updating about Idah, someone said "We don't want another loan. We want the board to back the manager with permanent signings".It's an obsession with some. If we're not buying players for published fees then the board can't be backing the manager inferring the board are not spending enough of their wealth. I just wish people would engage brain before posting these things.

The no of loans has increased this season and that line has got louder and louder and louder.Loan players come free don’t they. Cheap option. Oh dear oh dear, i just don’t think some people will ever get it will they. There are some of course that don’t want to get it. They just take great joy at slagging our board off at every opportunity. Some of us DBR are just banging our heads against a brick wall.

Too many posters are sounding like prosecution lawyers these days, putting their case forward.

I said 10/11, your other mate said 11/12 and you said 16/17. I can comfortably state we only have 10/11 contracted players who are capable of playing league 1 football.

Unreal. Put your phones down for a night fellas. This is so true every time signings or budget is mentioned it's inevitable that the thread will end up in point scoring and over the top fact checking/microscopic checking of old posts for contradictions. People maybe enjoy it (they must to do it so often)
I said it earlier, some people argue because of who the poster is, the point of the thread becomes irrelevant when trying to score points or belittle the other person, it’s boring and it’s certainly pissing folk off

I’ve had many people message me and ask me also in person who these people are and if I know them but I’ve never met them in my life. So I don’t know the issue. 2 years ago campsall was amongst the most negative posters on this forum and now anyone who says a bad word against the club gets it full barrel just because he’s changed his tune. Anyhow I agree, it’s childish and boring for others. I think people should be allowed their opinion without being told they don’t have a brain etc.
