I expect the trouble in Bristol was a reflection of all this. Somehow I don't think it was just about the right to protest.

I think we can expect to see more of it.

Pictures of ten of the rioters shown on the news tonight.
I hope they all get caught and prosecuted.

When there is massive inequality and people feel disenfranchised unrest is not far away.

Have you seen the new police bill ? This is not just during the pandemic.

I'm not saying what they did was right or wrong, but enough is enough and  at some point people Rebel, some just go too far !

This is just the start,  what does the future hold ?

Zero hour contracts, no right to strike, no right to protest, laws brought in without debate, jobs being automated, global capitalism is king - corporate business is king... Who runs this world ? Because it sure isn't the people we see on TV.

back on topic the gov't is to set up a new health agency to combat future pandemics but considerering they had every warning possible about this one, sat on their hands and ignored expert advice will it do any good?

Apart from being able to say but look what we've acheived when/if the enquiry into this one starts.

They had an agency and disbanded it  before the pandemic hit ??

Also carried out a trail run a few years prior and the findings have come to fruition.

Week before last the fall in the number of new positive cases dramatically stopped. That was to be expected as the number of tests per day shot up with returning schoolkids being tested regularly. It was inevitable that there would be more positive cases flagged up.

But after that once and for all increase in daily testing, we settled down to the new number of tests a day. So, if the cases were still falling and everything else was the same, we'd expect the daily positive test result numbers to start falling again.

But they haven't. They've stayed rock steady now for nearly three weeks.

Two possibilities I guess.
1) The return to school really has stopped the fall in infections

2) (Hopefully this is the correct one) The increase in the use of lateral flow tests for schoolkids and their families is resulting in more false positives being logged.

Seems to me to be massively important that we get to the bottom of this quickly.

Not just covid, my little one started nursery last week, 5 days it took her going there before I gained a cold.....

Try stopping 3 year olds from getting close to each other.

It is the kids fault when after school and at weekends they gather in large groups, no face masks etc.
Of course I know they are required to go to school but they are not compelled to behave irresponsibly after school.

Was it exactly 12 week after your first one, or earlier?

Fascinating that you think kids are more likely to spread covid when out in the park for an hour rather than sitting with 20+ others in the same room for 6 hours. Why do you think BFYP kiddie caught something on returning to the nursery rather than in the park?

I was talking about teenagers rather than nursery groups.
I have mentioned it before on here.
Have you not seen groups of teenagers hanging out in the evenings and at weekends.

You have and no one has defended that. Nor has it had noticable effect on case numbers. Which have gone up after schools went back as per that report.
