What a spineless kitson we have for a prime minister.

He’s just backed Cummings, but hasn’t said what measures everyone are now able to interpret to meet their own needs..

Spineless coward.

Looking forward to the questions.!

And he has the barefaced nerve to remind everybody at the end of his spiel that we must ALL continue to isolate when infected!!

So it’s ok to follow our instincts as parents, regardless of the rules in place.?

What if it is instinctive to go visit your grandparents for the happiness and mental well being of your kids.?

Which rules can be bent (sorry “interpreted”) as we see fit.?

Is our PM so blind and so ill-advised that this is likely to cause chaos across the country.?

Those elements of society who are already borderline on following lock down measures may feel entitled now to say “f**k it” and just do whatever they like.

Boris struggling! He's getting more and more wrapped up in trying to avoid answering a question directly and becoming more and more incoherent as a result.

This is not a car crash, it’s a M25 multi vehicle pile up at rush hour

He’s not answering the questions either.

Someone just asked him what “no alternative” to childcare means and he totally ignored that question - that part being the most relevant as it could have explained Cummings actions as well as given guidance to others.

He’s also cutting off the journalists wanting to ask follow up questions.

Johnson starts with a false claim that Cummings had "no alternative".
Overlooks his wife's family and other support in London.

He’s thrown a protective ring around Cummings.
If only he’d done the same with care homes.

Unbelievable.

Someone just mentioned how a doctor in Oxford was in a similar situation to Cummings but stayed at home, didn’t realise there was an exception.

Johnson ignored that question and repeated his statement that Cummings did the right thing.

Johnson's little speech defending Cummings was doubtless scripted by Cummings.

Without Cummings Johnson is just a wind bag of pretend Churchill bluster.

Nothing but complete and total contempt for this Prime Minister.

Never even  felt this bad under Thatcher.

meanwhile - UK coronavirus death toll rises by 118 to 36,793

Where’s Bozzer in all this.? Nowt to say.?

Labour have asked THE key question of him. And it's the reason Cummings will not be getting sacked.

Labour have asked, did Johnson know where Cummings was.

The response is "The PM was aware that Cummings was self-isolating." Which, of course, entirely avoids the actual question.

So we can take it as read that Johnson knew damn well where Cummings was.

And here's the interesting bit.

Cummings is not a Tory. He doesn't have any allegiance to the Tory party. Never been a member.

If he's sacked over this, he'll go off like a daisy cutter land mine.

He's got previous. When he's been crossed in the past, he's gone volcanic on his blog, doing character assassinations of his opponents.

Imagine what he now knows about Johnson. Cummings could have him out of Downing Street in an instant. The first thing would be shouting from his blog that Johnson knew damn well he was in Durham and was perfectly OK with it. Following that, there would be the inside story of where the f**k the PM was throughout February as CV-19 bedded in. And you can bet your left knacker there are other skeletons in the cupboard, given Johnson's long established inability to stay sober and keep his cock in his pants.

And THAT is why the Govt has gone all in, defending the indefensible today.

As I was saying. Johnson will not sack Cummings.

But I suspect he's just taken a big step towards putting Labour comfortably ahead in the polls over the next few weeks.

Astonishing watch, that. The only remotely positive thing I can say is that Johnson fielded questions about Cummings - when it went to the Q&A and the first two were about something else I thought that was it. I’ve picked my words carefully there to say fielded, he certainly didn’t answer them. I’ve seen less piss and bluster in the stands at the Keepmoat. This is not going to be forgotten about or swept under the carpet, it’s going to have some serious ramifications for the government.

On a brighter note, Robert Peston’s reaction to Johnson’s “answer” was absolutely priceless.

There will be forensic questioning coming soon enough

As someone said earlier Nixon resigned over Watergate but not for the initial furore but the constant dripping of the Tap and hopefully the truth will out

Johnson unchallenged on the fact that he said Cummings has acted to suppress the virus

How can that be when his wife was showing symptoms so him her and sprog got in car together so how did that suppress it when she could have passed it on to the other 2

Did they Not stop for 4 year old to pee eat or for car for fuel on a 264 mile trip. How did that suppress the virus

Then visit Barnard Castle having left the London hotbed and tripped to a small Durham Town and mix with all the locals Again how was that suppressing the virus

Hope the cctv is still available and or photo and witnesses come forward

He will take that, just think what Tuesday morning is going to be like for a few high ranking civil servants is going to be like turning up for work.
If you are going for an assassination you have to make sure they are dead.

There doesn’t seem to be too much support for Cummings within the Tory Party such a shame. I’ve never seen such stuttering responses from Boris
