Current weekly rates of new infections.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Eb3xnDjWAAsmub0?format=jpg&name=large

Note that Germany has a policy that any area which experiences an outbreak of more than 50 cases per 100,000 in a week has to go back into severe lockdown. That's basically everything dark red on that map. While the normal shade red areas are only just below 50.

We are telling people in those areas to f**k off down the pub and get swallied on Saturday.

This is criminal. Literally criminal.

The head of public health in Doncaster says 70 is the number he'd be looking at to consider it. We're at 24.

So because a pub is open you have to go there and get drunk? Pubs are opening with social distancing if people go there and break social distancing rules that is down to them, you can’t babysit everyone forever people should take responsibility for there own actions

Problem is there are plenty irresponsible and selfish people around to spoil things for the more law abiding rational people.  You only have to look at the beaches last week.  Never mind the social distancing issues, the litter was horrendous.

It is a sad reflection of our society that there are so many selfish and ignorant people around.

I would rather not go to a pub to be subject to social distancing - that’s not what going to the pub is about.  Not so bad for restaurants where you tend to stay with your group at one table..

In what way are those who infect other people going to be taking responsibility for their actions?

by keeping social distancing Glynn if they follow the guidelines you would like to think they will not infect other people

No, that's what they should be doing and not what I asked about - if they keep social distancing they won't infect anyone, will they? I asked in what way are those who break social distancing rules and infect other people going to be taking responsibility for their own actions?

And the question I'm asking is how are they taking responsibility for their actions?

I get people are worried and rightly so but at some
Point you have to re open things, yes it’s a risk and local lockdowns might become more often but I don’t believe there is a right or wrong on this at the minute

We went to York outlet yesterday. First trip out went on a Monday early to avoid crowds. It was quiet and shops have clearly done their best . Strict and blatantly obvious one way system in place , blatantly ignored by at least half a dozen middle aged folk walking against the flow as and when it suited them. Given these were are stone cold sober what chance have they got down Silver Street.

Open or not from what I saw yesterday shopping is rapidly going to be a thing of the past. You can't try certain items on , queues were apparent at the main shops with numbers restricted so wife ended up going in by herself , meaning I was just waiting outside taking up space. As soon as it got a few more people in there it would have been more work than it was worth. You aren't going to queue to browse and not be able to try on as the internet provides that service without any risk . Endless Queing in the dry of a shopping centre is bad enough, who will do that on a wet Wednesday in middle of Donny

You talk about it as a little local difficulty, like the beer running out or not having enough light bulbs and blundering around in the dark. It's a highly contagious microscopic virus that many people seem asymptomatic too but has so far killed 60000 others.

The current rate of infection is running steady and just below 1000 a day, which is being managed with a world beating tracing system that is unable to contact a quarter of the people they know about - never mind the ones they don't know about.

Or how many people do you think should become infected as a result of hospitality opening before it is closed again?

You can say the same for the beaches and shops, In my local area there are 2 people in hospital( yes I no there are others with it) but when should they open when there are nil with it?

Where do people think the drinkers and clubbers from Leicester are going on Saturday for a night out when their pubs don't open, yep Nottingham.
Can't see that there will be roadblocks stopping them.

The clubbers won’t go anywhere as nightclubs are not open and if the pubs are not open they will probably go the parks or the beaches or stand around drinking in the city centres

It appears that coaches are already being organised, you don't need a Nightclub with licensing laws as they are. Plenty of pubs in Nottingham town centre stay open till the early hours as they do in most town centres.

It's just as well the weather is poor, if it was hot and  sunny I think there would have been real problems at the pubs.

As it is Saturday night might be dodgy. Young people are obviously sick of lockdown, that's why there are all these illegal raves and block parties popping up.

Just for the record.

Is this how you expect the Leader of the Free World to manage a crisis?
