He has done better than that another vaccine is going to be manufactured and produced in the North East of England.

What's that got to do with him?

Vaccine nationalism - are you going to ask to have yours redone in case you got the 'foreign one'...

Just...f**king...words.

Is he actually saying that by September last year, he didn't understand that delaying lockdown wouldn't help the economy? Anyone who spent any time thinking about this at the time knew damn f**king well that delaying lockdown could only mena more cases, and an eventual lockdown from a higher level that would a) kill more people and b) take much, MUCH longer to get under control, thus causing far worse economic damage.

I don't know which is the more shocking - that Sunak truly believes what he is saying, or he doesn't realise how plainly he is openly admitting that he is unfit for high office.

In a normally functioning democracy, this would dominate the political agenda for days. As it is, we don't seem to give much of a f**k that the decision that he pushed through has killed 50,000 people and cost us maybe £0.25trn in economic damage.

most people in my circle of friends, even now we are all approaching 40, just don't give a f**k about politics. These sorts of comments by ministers and the PM are scandalous, yet they know no-one gives a f**k, and it's scary what they can get away with.

Just yesterday Johnson was exposed for cheating on his dying wife and giving his mistress over £100 million from the public purse, and it's not even covered by the BBC or ITV news?

Admin. That sounds like a provocative post aimed at creating a personal argument.

It was quite a reasonable question.

His interview on the news last night was painful. He sort of accepted he made the wrong decisions but not really because nobody could know... He didn't accept that he'd pushed for the wrong approach (though it was widely reported he did) and then blamed Johnson three times for making the wrong choices. He looked like a guilty puppy throughout. A Prime Minister in waiting? Christ.

RD.
It was widely reported and never denied, that he brought in the three lockdown deniers in chief to meet Johnson (Gupta, Tegnell and Heneghan).

It is certainly true that
a) After that reported meeting, Johnson chose not to lockdown.
b) The SAGE guidance was strongly for a lockdown.
c) Cases continued going up rapidly.
d) Heneghan fired out a series of increasingly divorced from reality tweets and articles about lockdowns and other interventions, culminating in one that so directly misrepresented the established scientific facts that it really ought to have been a career-ender.

Circumstantial evidence suggests that that meeting did occur, and that Heneghan, having got his way, was under massive stress to paint black as white as the second wave got out if control. And the fact that Sunak has never once denied the reports that he organised the meeting...draw your own conclusions.

I think he’ll make a good PM. Certainly better than what we’ve got now and better then anyone I can think from from another party.

Billy. What’s a lockdown denier? I don’t think I’ve come across that phrase before.

I you don’t agree with BST is it not better to provide a fact rather than a jibe or a silly answer?
I say this as someone that has seen four relatives suffer the Corona virus to varying degrees and this is a general question rather than aimed at just one individual.

I mean all posts that rather than addressing any data or point raised by him is just ridiculed rather than countered by evidence to the contrary Belton.

Belton.
It's a shorthand term in a quickly written post to describe people who have repeatedly denied the need to have lockdowns and denied the efficacy of lockdowns working to suppress the virus.

Those three have a year long record of that sort of behaviour.

Those three were brought in to persuade the PM not to follow the consensus scientific advice on lokcdown last September.

That decision led directly to us having the worst second/third wave of any large European country.

But yeah. Sunak would make a great PM.

Not all posts need to be counter argued with evidence. I gave my personal opinion of the politician in question and asked what a phrase I’d never heard of meant (after googling it with no success). Thanks to Billy’s reply, I now know what he meant by it.

What is it about a millionaire who refuses to disclose where his investments are, in his previous job was a partner in one of  the hedge funds which literally started the financial crash and has shown as chancellor that he priortises business wealth over working people's health, that people think he will make a good PM?

Sorry to interject, but didn’t BST say that he considered Sunak might make a good PM.
