I remember about 1969 where they were asking fans to suggest records for the club. The announcer said that they had already had some suggestions but didn't think that "rescue the perishing" wasn't very apt. It's a hymn apparently. To see that it was suggested when we successful shows that there were some doubters even then.☹️

I always fancied us running out to Smells like teen spirit.
Some could even adapt the lyrics to,
"Here we are now, Gerrit forward".

Cool song to run out, to but what an epic chant that would be! Neat intro to gather the voices, then kapow with the chorus.

Hello, hello, hello, hello
Hello, hello, hello, hello
Hello, hello, hello, hello
Hello, hello, hello

With the lads out, we're dangerous
Here we are now, we are Rovers
Gerrit forward,  we're dangerous
Here we are now, we are Rovers
Donny Rovers, Donny Rovers, Donny Rovers, Donny Rovers
Hey!

They may just a have choice of their own instead IT being inflicted on them . Better to be motivated through choice than being patronised by ignorance!!

In the late 00s early 10s I'm sure, like just about every other team, we used "Eye in the Sky" by Alan Parsons and the theme from "Requiem for a dream". They might have been walking out music for 2nd half rather than 1st but certainly played when we entered the field of play.

But it's not for their benefit, it's for ours.

Nobody's patronising anybody.

Quite. I would hope they've got more important things to think about than the music when they walk on to the pitch.

On a slightly different theme I seem to remember back in the late 60's Red Red Wine by Jimmy James being played at evening games as the crowd left the old Belle Vue

Just a short note to say thank you for commenting and sharing your memories. It's much appreciated and is invaluable to the project.

We're still on the lookout for songs, so if anyone remembers anymore, or can confirm other suggestions, drop us a line.

If you remember roughly what season even better!

Cheers,
Joe

I remember one season we came out the wenger boys; I remember Daren Moore coming out dancing to it.
