Fully agree. I was trying to keep it as a fair comparison. Start comparing them as a whole, against Moore, and you're into the realms of chalk and cheese.

Dieng has always frightened me with his penchant for playing with the ball at his feet, but for the one mistake he makes up for it big time in the way he deals with crosses, and no mean shot stopper either.

Yes it was a mistake by Dieng last night, but I felt the reason he didn’t come and try to just boot it out is that he didn’t want to fly in and catch their player for a penalty, or allow them to block it and it spin into the net. He was slightly between a rock and a hard place because the backpass was so weak.

Overall he’s a very good GK and Moore is right to back him here.

Brilliant manager!!! We are very lucky to have big Daz and big Dieng for that matter imo. We all make mistakes, it’s how we learn from them that matters I feel. ⚽️😀

Darren Moore is a class act, both as a manager and as a human being. I hear it every time I listen to his interviews talking about the games. Yes he can be coy and use cliches when trying not to divulge sensitive info (transfers mainly) but as Macho says, when he gets onto a topic he can freely discuss and is passionate about it can be eye-opening. I really hope he stays for years to come.

Last night was the first time Dieng really has cocked up for us. Two errors in that goal, one the erroneous throw out that came straight back and then failing to just boot it when Sheaf played the underhit backpass. But he is so assured at catching, he is a good shot stopper and his composure makes a big difference. Darren will see him right and I'm sure he will be back to his best going forward.

If we're going to play football all over the pitch then his attitude is exactly what we need to eventually get it right. Stick with players despite mistakes so long as they show they learn from it. Only a few seasons ago Liverpool would concede bizarre goals by playing around or been over attacking but Klopp never criticised or changed only encourage and now they are probably the best side i've ever seen.

I think he actually beat 3 Lincoln players at Keepmoat in that Leasing Trophy all in or just over 6 yrd box. That one came off but last nights didnt

The pass out was off target but when we got it back the back pass was as others noticed very short. A bit more pace and he could have hoofed it clear

At least the mistake(s) sorted out my long fingernails that I had been meaning to cut

Onwards and upwards - Keepers make mistakes and often dont get away with it - strikers miss open goals and the chances are often forgotten

Not only is Dieng a great keeper he's also one of the best passers of the ball we've got! The odd mistake is well worth his contribution to the team.

The mistake was Sheif’s short back pass, Dieng had two options hoof it or try and play out of if he hoofed it there was a good chance it would rebound off the attacker who was on top of him, so he chose to try and play out of it and it fell into the path of the other attacker. We’ll forgive him though, he’s been superb all season

Anton, he’s on loan until the end of the season then we take it from there. So in the meantime, no one is going to poach him. Chill Anton, all is well.

Nobody who has Dieng on their radar is going to decide to bid for him based on Darren's interviews. If he talks him up in the press, Dieng might hear it and gain  confidence. A team wanting him will go for him based on their extensive scouting report of his performances, and he will already be on their radar.

I think the learning to be had for that goal is 95% Sheaf's.  Filo correctly makes the point that to try knocking it out ran the risk that the player closing him down would block and rebound it into the net.  Dieng was sold a pup with that pass and I'm not lambasting Sheaf, close behind Sadlier he was my man of the match up to that point.
