Pretty sure the name plate (or replica) off the loco hangs above the player's tunnel so they walk under it as they head out onto the pitch.

We used to play in these as kids. Talk about health and safety!

I spent a lot of my childhood on the Hexthorpe bridge slope. Do you remember the WW2 tanks on the other side of the Sheffield line?

Fell off one of them and started incessantly swearing

Some of the tanks were fitted with rearview mirrors. Apparently, they were the French ones. They had them fitted so they could keep an eye on the front line.

........And some of them you couldn't get the gears out of neutral. Those were the Swiss ones.

A few had fifteen reverse gears, they were the Italian ones.

I bought a miniature loco nameplate from the gift shop at the North York Moors Railway in Grosmont. Looks very smart in my house.

I’ve got one of those as well DBR, looks great in my office!

You are correct Dave it hangs above the door out of the players tunnel, complete with the red and white bands.

I wonder which foundry cast the loco nameplates?
Now the original wooden mould for the rovers loco plate would be worth a few quid.
