Left out means not included in the squad.

Left out of the starting 11 means just that - Left out of the starting 11. If a player had been left out of the squad, he wouldn't have played a part in the game!

What I have said all along, and maintain, is that Sadlier wasn't 'left out' as such because he played 20 minutes of the game. He was merely left out of the starting line up!

I don’t know, who did start an argument about it.
As far as I remember, people, including me, said that Sads was left out of the starting eleven so therefore he was deemed to be left out.
