Today at Shrewsbury
« on February 22, 2020, 05:01:07 pm by phil old leake »
That result is going to make the play offs extremely difficult now
It will be interesting to hear DM after match interview
I’ll be interested in a view on the game from anyone that went

That first line mate has to be the understatement of the year.

It is very early to be saying that given we are still in February, but our away form is poor and with so many games away, we would need a huge change of away form to be pushing - no evidence this is going to happen.

Surely even the most optimistic fan will agree that we have fallen short

I hardly listen to his comments now, everyone is the same

“They’re a good side”

“ We knew it would be tough”

“No good crying over spilt milk”

Blah blah blah

Awful today I felt, overall. Better second half but first half we looked like a team of strangers. So slow and sloppy. Some of the passing you’d mock at Sunday league. Second half better. But not that hard really.

Too many off days again though.

I thought Cole did ok. John - bit of a mare. Ennis ineffective. Nobody really took the game by the scruff of the neck.

Shrewsbury were spoilers. Actually some quite nasty niggly stuff going on.

4/10 for me.

We don't seem to be able to cope with teams like Shrews and Fleetwood do we.

Beat them both at home but I know what you mean

When we played Shrews at home I thought that they rolled over and gave in.
I haven't been today but some posters have suggested that they were in our faces and trying to get our players sent off.

First half was fairly even, 2nd half we had about a 10 minute spell we was on top and looked like scoring, after that, poor! John is NOT a left back, fact but James is out for now, so it is what it is! Can’t see us getting in the playoffs, we need to win something like 7/8 of the next games to have a chance which I can’t see! Shame really but we are not good enough! Decent from us that were around 500 away fans, a wards and upwards but need to sort it out for next season!!

I used to be an optimist but I'm deflated after that performance, DM please stop tinkering. The ref was a gullible softie.

Let’s sum it up nice and easily.

STOP changing the team. START picking our best team consistently. If injuries/suspensions happen then changes need to be made but other than that we need to stop tinkering. It’s ridiculous.

John is an absolute Disaster at left back. It’s so bleeding obvious.

Not his fault I must add and I’m not having a go at him, I think he’s quality. But we’re playing with 10 men with him there.

I don't know what's going on with John. Do we only get him if we play him even if it's at left back? Is that the deal?

If so, I'd rather end his loan and take a chance on giving Amos a run in the side.

Never got forward enough over all , we still struggle to put our stamp on games . Some below par performances ie John looked all at sea when going forward, Eniss  just isn’t a threat in front of goal . Taylor failed to make any impact when he came , and bollocked John when he put a chose to shoot when in Taylor’s opinion he should have passed , yet when John did pass Taylor failed to even move his feet in any attempt to score . Over all we fell for another poor goal and looked average throughout .

People were shot down for saying that John shouldn’t be in the team at LB, including myself.
Apparently it is even more obvious after today.
As I said last week, it is time to give Danny Amos his chance.
The top six is virtually gone now so nothing to lose anymore.

Moore is culpable for the team selections in the last two games. I don’t know how you drop your top scorer when he’s in form and we need to win games. DM needs to learn from this, he’s got it wrong this last week.

This might make the board rethink on giving him resources for a big squad

We haven’t got a big squad just a-load of loans , kids and loans no one else wants .

Kids and loans no one else wants. What on earth are you talking about?
We have lost 2 games on the trot and now apparently our players are useless. Get a grip please.
2 weeks ago we were on track for a play off place. So 2 weeks ago we had good players and now we have rubbish ones.
The lack of perspective and your knee jerk reactions to losing are beyond me.

Yes a play off place is now a remote possibility but it isn’t the end of the world. Let DM build his squad in the summer and let’s see what a proper close season’s preparation will achieve.

While I don’t agree we have players no one else wants our performances over the last couple of months have been way off play offs, we seem to have lost the exciting attacking football we had at the start of the season, have we been worked out as play the same formation pretty much every week maybe? Next season we need more more experience as well as youngsters

Next Season ???? All new loans and the same set of circumstances which mean the same out come ...mid table . We have a ‘paper team’...they only look good on paper

To be fair you look at Peterborough and other top 6 teams and they look far better on paper than we do

We have done the double over Peterborough but that was on grass not paper.
