Are stores such as pets at home included in the lockdown?

PM advised yesterday evening that we should use supermarket deliveries where possible..

Has he actually tried to book one recently. ?  Fortunately our household is symptom free and we all drive, so getting to the shops isn’t an issue, but what about others.?  Within neighbouring communities folks can help each other, but what about those who don’t know anyone.?

So much for loyalty boys. I wonder how many new customers will actually stay with them when this crisis is eventually over?

Are people seriously having a go at supermarkets for first-come-first-served delivery slots filling up? Jesus wept.

How, and more importantly why, do you expect them to be prioritising you over other people who have ordered? We're in a global crisis and people are being asked not to leave the house, but of course, big bad Tesco are doing you over by not taking into account your clubcard points! Do me a favour.

No, I’m certainly not.

It was more the irony of the PM saying last night to use delivery services, when they are already maxed out..

Wasn't particularly aimed at your post IDM, apologies.

Perhaps the PM was referring to Deliveroo etc?

No idea.. I thought he meant supermarkets and was completely out of touch with reality..

Otherwise I did agree with much of what he said.

I am actually.  Put a system in place to prioritise those who need it most such as my Grandfather who is pushing 90 and has no family within 2 hours of home and his wife in a home.  Tough for most of us, but fair for those like that who need it.

My youngest step-daughter is asking us every night if we need anything and leaving it on the doorstep every morning. It has worked very well so far with her now working from home.

I fully agree.  Too many people are taking advantage when they are fully fit and capable of driving to 'click & collect', but they can't be arsed!

We were looking to do a supermarket delivery in about 3-4 weeks in case the restrictions tighten, and to counter the panic buying.. meanwhile we go out more often that we normally would, because catching the shops at the right time is difficult now.

That's completely different to prioritising people just because they shop online with that retailer frequently.

No different to Xmas when all the delivery slots are taken up by infrequent shoppers.
Agree with prioritising for those who can’t get to the shops including NHS workers - this coming from someone who orders online every week with Tesco and can’t get a slot

Am I the only one on here who has never ever had a supermarket delivery. I have always preferred to go myself and pick my own. Things might change soon but I'll put it off as long as I can.

Me neither, I try to go to the market each week for cheese, meat, fish and fruit & veg so only use supermarkets for what I can’t get there.

The problem with home delivery for me is that if the product you wanted is not available then they’ll substitute something else of their choice - I’d rather be in control of that process myself.

I tried to do a online food shop at Asda last week spent 84 pounds, the actual bill ended up being just over 40 as had nothing in or no substitute products
