Twitter thread on OBV, with some photos from after Rovers left;

Some might enjoy a look back.
I still get nostalgic, even though its time was up!

Brought a lump to my throat, those did. The photo at the bottom left is from pretty much the exact spot that I got my first ever view of the inside of BV as a 5 year old.

And the one at top left is taken from within a couple of yards of where I'd have been stood with my dad at the last match we went to before he died.

A grim 0-0 against Kettering in March 2001. Another season in the Conference petering out. The one bright spot of the match was a couple of flashes from a lad called Fran Tierney who came on as sub for his home debut.

Typical of the daft sod that my dad was, that he departed while we were still near the bottom of our 15 year decline, and just as we were about to start the best decade in our history.

Forgot to add that to make the pic bigger in Twitter, click on the photo, then you have an option to look at them in turn.

Another photo from over the airfield, taken on a raceday by the look;

Before the cover went up over the tunnels, so before my time.

Any codgers know when that extension was put up?

Not a clue Albie - I dont ever remember the Main Stand without the extension so pre 1960s -  but I do remember the third Tunnel clearly not there in that photo that only led I believe to a Tea Bar - and again that was a vivid memory so maybe the 2 happened together ?

I have said many a time on here that as a kid (so say 1962) I used to get a Tea or Crisps or whatever from the Tea Bar under the Stand and then walked out fantasising that I was a Player as I walked down that particular Tunnel

I am sure the usual suspects just MUST have done the same but will they admit it ? Maybe some wouldnt have seen over the Tunnel wall though  :evil:

That Kettering game is that the one with the rather large lad on the away end and everyone was singing “fat lad,fat lad give us a wave” and his mate was laughing his head off at him
