Favorite ever kit
« on May 27, 2020, 11:56:58 pm by stuey »
Just a bit of fun while it's quiet, just wondering what's everyone's favorite ever kit and why.

Mine is the 'Zig zag' 92' 93' kit with the pizza box away shirt.

Just brings back memories of so many fantastic players

I unfortunately have no memories of the real retro kits, only becoming a supporter in the last 10 years, though looking at old pictures we have had some real gems !
The 2 that stand out from recent years for me are the BHF charity kit with the single red heartbeat line which, in itself sends a strong message (and i believe Copps scored wearing this on his 500th league appearance at Morcambe?) and the 17/18 away kit (black with lime green hoops).  Can't remember it being a real fan favourite but for me was so easy on the eye!

Favourite away kit is the violet. Home kit is much more difficult but think I might have to agree with Stuey

African Violet away kit I agree was "the business" but I am a fan of the current nod to our first kit as well

I vowed to wear it every game this Season and I might have done it if we dont play any more

This one.. for its simple design..

Closely followed by the 2007/8 kit for the context of that season plus also the first time for decades we had the hoops with black shorts (shitty day at Scunthorpe a few years before not counted).

Thirded by the 1980 “Hibernian” style away shirt - that was still the time when you hardly ever saw green kits in the football league other than for goal keepers.

Black and luminous green was easy on your eyes? Do you work in a strobe light testing facility?

Always been a fan of the white shirt with red arm stripes circa 1980-82. The image of a very young I.Snodin stood hands-on-hips on the front the matchday programme takes me back!

I think it's quite a nice colour scheme to be honest, I see what Ainsley is saying. The lime green wasn't dominant in any way so it worked quite well, although I didn't like that year's "shoulder straps" hoops design that was on both the home and away kits so didn't buy either.

First one I ever had it was virtually the Bayern Munich kit

Very much so hound thank you. They’ll be enough room at Lincoln’s stadium  to meet up now, as they’ve just got rid of their top players and high earners.  I trust you’re doing well?

Very well thanks Lincoln, I hope you are too.
I’m missing playing football more than watching it though to be honest.
I still have plenty of stuff to do that keeps me busy and am looking forward to getting the caravan out and getting away for a change of scenery.

Stay safe.

All white with red trim and Doncaster Council badge (pre-viking) 68-69, bought one on e-bay last year, usually becomes a vest in winter under about 4 layers!
