Dr Norman Swan .... out of the confusion

Background

In the fairly early days of the virus in Oz, 13th of March the PM was still reeling from the mauling he got from his abject response to the bushfires and was still talking about going to watch his favourite rugby league team on the weekend …….. under the circumstances really dumb, the public outcry forced cancellation of the game.

The system of states territories and federal governments all clamouring to be heard led to much confusion (ruby princess) and the messaging was garbled and messy and buck passing was rife as always.

Over the top of this Norman Swan an experienced medical broadcaster and doctor rose above them and his advice became the message the public wanted to hear.

He came to Oz in the 80s from Glasgow and in the 90s exposed McBride for falsifying medical trial results on Thalidomide then later went on to join the Oz ABC.

He is really interesting and amusing it’s worth a watch if you can access it via the link or maybe youtube.
