You'd better apprise forum members of your new rules including how far they are allowed to live from the ground, how long they allowed are to be absent and presumably what they are allowed to say hound woof woof  :suicide:

Well, if DRFC had anything to do with government decisions then that comment might have some merit.
Obviously being a DRFC fan has no boundaries but you were clearly speaking of “we” in different context to the Rovers.

After all that then, what is the problem with letting the public have their choice? Make it marked give people the facts and let them decide?

Slight problem with that if we import cheaper chloro chicken and pigs fed on who knows what the poorer of society will not have a choice but to buy it to balance the household budget bfyp.

The US are strongly against labelling.

"The US government also officially considers country-of-origin labelling a barrier to trade, suggesting it is likely to push for such practices to be outlawed in a free trade agreement. This would make it impossible for consumers to tell whether their product had been sourced from the US."

... and as I said earlier (once or twice) it said Beef Lasagne on lots of products recently - but it was Horsemeat

Lots of unscrupulous people have been "done" for altering the labels from a Best Before date to a much later BB date

Lots of people sell "fake fur" products that were supposed to do away with horrible suffering to farmed Mink etc. So what happened ? Well the fake fur is much more expensive to produce so - yes you might have guessed - suppliers still farm Mink etc and supply them AS FAKE to the garment manufacturers

My advice or question is how can we ever trust anything seen on a Label if there are humans involved in the supply chain ?

Is current food labelling a UK or EU rule.?

If the latter, chances are that will go for a burton.  I hope I am wrong..

EU rule but we'll (at the moment) be adopting it.

If the UK doesn't adhere to strict EU policies regarding labels and quality etc the extra tariffs won't be a problem as they will not allow imports of UK food products.

I'm sure this is all a misunderstanding.

Here's Michael Gove on TV last year categorically promising that we won't be lowering food standards.

And when have you EVER seen him lie on TV?

Apart from every time you've seen the lying shit on TV?

Liz Truss yesterday

Interesting.  The fullness of time will tell us if this is indeed true, or just another lie to passify people who are concerned about erosion of standards.

The first reply in the thread gives a good indicator I should think.

One person's 'lower food standards' is someone else's 'business opportunity'.
