100 supporters and a full ground to walk round should mean social distancing is easier too.  I'm a former rosso lad and used to go down there from time to time to catch a game (as well as the odd game for the Hornets too).

Might have to start going again.

Hornets used to get some decent crowds back in late 80 's early 90 's. Had a good side as well so I'm told.

Had a good side in the 60s as well. They had a half back called Mick Smith, who went on to have a great career with Featherstone, including 2 Wembley appearances.

It totally amazes me that local people break into places and vandalise things , they should be held to account by the locals and publicly shown up and made to pay . If they don’t do as instructed their punishment doubles

Back during the last miners strike the wooden bench seats were chain sawed out of the grandstand at Thorne Colliery football ground and the trees that grew all the way along the opposite side of the ground, big trees too, were all cut down and taken away.
Mysteriously no one heard a thing.

I know the Summerill family. Lovely people. Always had the Hornets interest at heart.

Won 3-2 away at Pontefract Colls today a few leagues above them in the pyramid. Ex Donny youth trainer Jack Watson bagged a goal, can remember him scoring a few for the under 18’s here

Those training pants are expensive at £222.

Dont forget Rovers fans, there are some handbooks for sale which will raise funds for DRFC.
See DRFC  FUNDRAISER thread.

Did Roachy play for hornets? I know he played for the dons and was a good player but liked a drink and had sticky fingers. passed away now I am told.

Surely that should read £22.20?

Yes roachy (Mark) played for hornets as well as dons. I played (badly) against him at school but no one could ever get near him, a proper whippet on the wing! Lovely lad (when not drinking) but liked a drink and suffered a lot from depression. Passed away a few years back, skint and alone. Bloody sad for such a nice bloke.

Doing it as a favour for a mate who comes into school to deliver PE but it does give thorne an extra level of professionalism for their new era and club thorne - two games down (sadly two losses at the hands of Retford and Harworth) but my input is getting very positive remarks from the spectators there - can't ask for more than that!
