Brentford and Fulham with wins tonight.
Massive game for Leeds against Stoke on Thursday. They dare not win or it will go down to the last game i reckon.

That is an awful lot of money for Costa imo as i have not been overly impressed with him when i have seen Leeds matches on TV.

Have to say how impressed with Brentford i am. What an unbelievable story they are making at Griffin Park. A team that also plays entertaining football.
Just shows what can be achieved by a small club from a position of almost insolvency only 9yrs ago.

Trouble with Leeds is that they seem to have issues getting over the line....... it would make my year if they slipped up again.

It’s a shame that when Leeds had their sticky patch all the other contenders slipped up. I fully expect them to do it this season, although it  would be great if they blew it again but can’t see it .

I enjoy the schadenfreude when Leeds fail, but I would be happy to see them promoted.

Regardless of any rivalries they are a club you would expect to see up there more than Watford, Burnley, Brighton, Norwich etc.

So what? No team is entitled to being in the top flight (I know that isn't what you said but it's a common conversation with football fans). Teams like Burnley and Brighton are well run and fully merit their place in the league. Leeds haven't merited a place for over 15 years although I expect that to change now.

I don't think they'll have it easy in the Premier League next season mind. If crowds are allowed back, their home form will probably see them right but it will take a few years before they're anywhere near their old lofty standard.

So what.?

I mean if we can see beyond our rivalries with Leeds in recent times, and the issue of Leeds supporters in Doncaster, then they are a club that could and should be in the top division.

I agree however only by their results on the pitch, same as anyone else, regardless of size and history.

Costa fortune!

If they wanna piss money up the wall again, and again then so bet it. No amount of millions can buy a club class, and they just don't have it or, are likely to get it!

At the point they earn promotion, I will agree that they *should* be there. But until that happens - likely in the next couple of weeks - then I can't say they do. And many have been saying they should for years when that simply hasn't been the case.

They haven’t been this close for years.  Bottled it last season, but if they win tomorrow they are 6 points clear of 3rd place with 4 games to go.

I can never keep track of the different sizes they use in these chain places

I know 'Venti' is big, is 'Helder' a medium or small?

For me tomorrow is just about make or break for Leeds.
Mathematically it isn’t i know, but physiologically i think it is crucial.

The problem is,the money owed to others when a club goes bust,St john's ambulance and the likes.

Brave man Geoff saying that on here. You will get slaughtered. But yes I will be rooting for them as they should be a premier league club based on size of the city and support they get.
But before i get slaughtered yes promotion is not a right or a given it has to be earned. They have to show the bottle required now to achieve auto promotion.

Pains me to say it but Leeds are definitely going up now, even they can't blow it from here.

This is the best Leeds have been since the David O'Leary era.

An era where they spent money they didn't have expecting to play in a competition they didn't get in.

Seen that same story happen all to many time will it happen even more to other clubs

They got to the semi final of the Champions league and lost to Valencia.
But yes you are right they over spent big time. One player was only expecting 15.000 pw and was offered and given twice that amount by Risdale and his fellow board members.

He is right though Campsall, Ridsdale banked on getting to the Champions League again in 2002 and they missed out meaning the money they had already spent wasn't going to be replenished. It all went downhill from there.

All a very long time ago now, mind. Ancient history in the grand scheme of things.

Correct Alias. I was just referring to the line “ a competition they didn’t get in”  just my interpretation as they did get into it but as he said and you rightly say failed to the following season.
