I've been contacted by someone who is trying to get in touch with former Rovers skipper Hugh Dowd. I am told that Hugh settled in Doncaster after his football career and became a teacher at McAuley High School. If anyone know how we could get in touch with Hugh please send me a PM.

My endearing memory of Hugh Dowd was of him scoring a header from the penalty area D.. I can’t be precise with the fixture but it might have been a pre-Leger Friday night fixture vs Exeter.. the 3-0 not the 6-1.?

The last I heard of Hugh he was working for the Probation service in Sheffield, youth offending team
