I suppose it’s not far away, it all depends on what you value Ben Whiteman at ? Especially in today’s current market.

The value only depends on what buying clubs are prepared to pay.

For example, if a top level championship club believes a player like Whiteman or Toney from Posh would help them reach the EPL, then the value they put on said players is more than a struggling championship side looking to avoid relegation.

It’s less about what players have achieved, than their potential to achieve more.

IMHO of course.

It’s really simple..  more articles online = more clicks from readers = greater advertising revenue.

What a load of tosh that is.
Made up figures based on what?

Any player is only worth what someone is prepared to pay. How does any one know what that is until a deal goes through.

Our overall valuation will possibly be relatively low at the present because our squad numbers are low. Probably lower than the ave in the division. But I have no facts on that.

Have the Free press run out of stories to publish?

It's based on Transfermarkt values. Which Reece James previously has moved for over a million so that and that he's got some Championship experience probably contributes a lot to his valuaition on there. Transfermarkt use other club interest and stats too which probably aren't taken into much consideration for League One so it's probably daft to compare teams at our level. Okenabirhie and Halliday don't have valuations for example.

If you look at Sunderland for instance nearly £2.5m of theirs is from Leadbitter and Grigg. One of which is in his mid 30's and struggling for game time and the other who came very close to going on loan to League Two. Both of which got only around 900 mins under their belts this season.

See my point above..

There’s a few “stories” like this regularly on the DFP website which suggest what could happen etc at each club - they do the same after each game for player ratings - but these stories run over 4-6 pages.  So to read all the feature that counts as 4-6 page impressions rather than just 1.  Advertisers buy digital platform space based on numbers of views.

That is the only reason why such features are on the site, and over several pages.  There is no need editorially to report on player ratings post game, in anything other than a one page report.

The Free Press website is sadly, very bad indeed. Liam produces lots of good content and regularly, but it is hard to read it due to the horrifically bad format and optimisation of the Free Press website and mobile offer. We all I think accept these guys need advertising to survive, but the slow, cumbersome and clunky presentation means it is a big disincentive to actually read the content and see the advertising. Very bad. Needs sorting.

Let's be honest it's death by pop up and you have to answer questions about your dead hamster's will before you can read anything good.
