Help with Posting photos and images.

Hi all just asking for help with posting photos on here.
I've done it in the past but seem to be unable to do it at the moment. Originally i posted them to a picture site then linked them to here. Long winded but thats all I new how to do. The site I used is no longer available I can't remember what it was called anyway.
I thought I'd cracked it with linking to a facebook image but that didn't work. Can someone please explain how I can put an image up. I thought I'd managed with my Rob Jones add on the for sale page but that was massive and basically took up the whole page and its not there now. Can you link to Instagram? I don't know anymore.

Can someone please write me a real basic idiots guide.

I suspect you used to use Photobucket, but they got greedy, started charging and stopped allowing links to forums unless you paid an exorbitant fee!
 
The solution is to open an account with Imgur, it's completely free and happily allows linking.  It also supports many formats, JPEF, TIFF, GIF etc.  Just create a folder for the relevant subject, open it and drag your photos into it - There's a pane to do this which opens when you drag.  Then click any image you want to post, click the COPY button for the BB Code which will copy the link to your photo and paste the resultant copied link, (use Ctrl V), into the relevant part of your post.
 
It's even easier in practice than I've explained here.
