PM announcement this evening
« on September 30, 2020, 12:46:45 pm by SoundbiteBarmyArmy »
Just confirmed that Boris is to address the nation again this evening. Rates have risen again.

Second lockdown looming?

Not that lucky

He should resign as a Planer though

OMG I am honestly the world's worst practical person I have ever seen but by God I've moved off (my) league table of s**t planers after watching that buffoon perform

I can't lay bricks either so he can have bottom position in that as well

He still whacks me 7 0 on kids... He's still gets more an hour than I get per year and he is 100 pc a bigger liar than I am so it's not all bad for him

Sure he can live with that the Goriila in a Tuxedo

I've just gone on Urban Dictionary to find out what "shit planing" is. Sounds like summat Nudga would know.

He should have said that he got it wrong about herd immunity, that lockdown was a waste of time and we are now in debt for decades for no reason. He really cheered me up with his two sidekicks Dr Death and Dr Gloom monger. It's about time we got back to normal and let the virus run it's course. He wittered on about this silly app. Most people can't afford to keep having two weeks off work unpaid because they 'might' have been in contact with someone who has it.

I notice he didn't apologise for his Dad not wearing a face covering in West London yesterday whilst out shopping.

His father's excuse was that he had been out the country for 3 weeks and had not read anything or kept up-to-date on current rules.

I’m not sure that he should apologise for something his dad did to be honest.

I can think of one thing Johnson's dad did about 57 years ago that he should apologise for.

I hope you get the dose you're so obviously craving to have as part of herd immunity. Then perhaps you'll understand what the virus does to people and why you don't treat it as cavalierly as you want to do.

What's your answer then, sit at home and watch the nation and economy collapse for the next five years?
If I get it, I get it. There are more people dieing of flu and cancer than covid. You wouldn't stay at home because of the chance of catching flu.

If you think this is like flu then you're completely ignorant of what it's like.

Then again, I'm sure you'll be happy supporting an economy that has a huge residual and ongoing welfare bill for all those suffering the after effects of a disease you're only to happy to make them contract.

PS There are about 10,000 deaths from flu per year. We've had 40,000 covid deaths in half that time and it's a damn sight more infectious than flu. Also, the last time I heard, cancer wasn't infectious at all.

Glyn I think that we vaccinate millions of the most vulnerable against flu though because we have a vaccine for it or the expected mutations every year, if not we could have far more numbers dying every year.
Both need treating with respect, which I think most people are doing, but we cannot let Covid 19 become all consuming.

Over 600 NHS and care professionals and 200 teachers and school staff have died (so far) from coronavirus. You don't get that with the flu.

The absolute madness and stupidity of thinking to let a highly contagious deadly virus, 'rip through' the population in which life will go on as 'normal' is mind blowing.

It needs a plan to deal with it.

If anyone can tell me why what Taiwan, New Zealand, Vietnam, Germany and other countries with low infection rates are doing wrong I am happy to listen. Because I would like to know from our government why we are not doing what they are doing?

As I understand it, only about 10% of the population has had covid so far. If AL truly believes in herd immunity to save the economy, what economic chaos do you think there'd be if the other 90% caught it all together at relatively the same time? Not only would the country grind to a halt whether there was a lockdown or not because so many people would either not be fit to work or too much of a risk of further infecting others, the medical services would also be completely overwhelmed many times over and there be a bigger percentage of unnecessary deaths per capita as a result. Which would lead to more economic chaos on top of that already caused.

I'm not suggesting that covid prevention be all-consuming, but the need to suppress the infection rate is paramount. And be done ruthlessly if necessary. However, to even think that herd immunity is a solution to the problem is sheer lunacy.

I'd truly love us to be able to have an experiment. Split the country into two hermetically sealed halves. Let all the ALs go in one, and all the rest of us in another. Leave locked for 18 months then have a peak and see who has come out best.

Instead, you e got gobshites like that hobbing out their shite, safe from having to deal with the consequences of it.

You mean Sweden who's fared worse than any of its neighbours who had tighter restrictions?

Yeah. Sweden that had 5 times as many deaths as Denmark AND a bigger economic hit because people chose to stay at home for months themselves.
