Seeing as we've skewed into series rather than just films, I'm currently most of the way through S2 of The Umbrella Academy. Really enjoyed it but I think you have to be a particular kind of person to like it. Dysfunctional family of superheroes trying to stop the apocalypse. The Boyz is great too, staying on the superhero genre, if you're comfortable with graphic violence.

Thanks. There was a time when I was all about series and not bothered about films. The Umbrella Academy and The Boyz are on my list.

I've tried with Umbrella Academy but failed to be enthralled with it. The Boyz though is a different kettle of fish, found it to be particularly absorbing.

If we are talking series rather than films can I throw into the mix a couple of others? The Mandalorian has been excellent, and nobody seems to have mentioned Sons of Anarchy or Black Mirror either.

Looks like we've moved onto series haha. We have watched the majority of Black Mirror and really like it. It's very different and makes you think.

Never seen Sons of Anarchy! Heard many good things about it. Is there 7 seasons?

Any Game Of Thrones fans about? Is that worth my time?

Yes we loved it but it is a matter of taste.. some don’t..

Better to watch without reading the books first as they vary too much.

The wife and I started GOT a couple of years ago and we were enjoying it. We watched it hungover once and a horses head got chopped off so that's when we decided to stop with it. Maybe I just need to man up and get it watched on Sky Boxsets!

Back on the film theme, and for those music fans amongst us, my favourite would be 'Almost Famous'.

Going back to series; last few nights I have watched the Top Gear specials: Patagonia, Burma and Africa (where they locate the source of the Nile). Brilliant TV, imo.

Ohh, that reminds me; Uncut Gems on Netflix is decent. Not the Adam Sandler you'd expect.

So, was in the mood for a film yesterday afternoon, decided to watch 1922 based on the Stephen King novela - complete waste of 1 hour 45 minutes. I'm assuming the book is a lot better.

Good one on BBC over the weekend - still available on iPlayer.

Original 1962 version of The Manchurian Candidate. Absolute classic.

I enjoyed The Italian Job as well, but that version was with Michael Caine.

Sorry mate, couldn't resist.

Very good. Thanks for that.

Michael Caine the one with his name beginning with a C of course as i don’t think Harry or Herbie are quite in the same league as actors, is one of the most iconic actors of all time imo.
They threw the mould away when they made him.
