I was very surprised we let him go.
Thought he had something about him in his short cameo appearances for us.  We may well have let a diamond go Vicar.

It is League 2 not league 1.

Aye that means you're never going to be able to produce at anything above your current level.

Mark my words,
A goal getter is a goal getter....this Watters lad will be buzzing at the moment and bigger clubs will come looking if he maintains it....

We may end up looking rate proper Charlie’s ....

He never excited me in what brief cameos I saw. You win some, you lose some, i reckon Darren will be on the right side of these.

Isn’t this how Alfie May started for Cheltenham?

Alfie had bags of experience at L1 and L2 with us though before Cheltenham. Watters has had no experience whatsoever and has bagged 5 already.

It looks promising for him

With a bit of realism its about team fit. Benteke at Villa was just about the best striker in the league. For Liverpool and Palace he is usually garbage. The difference? The team is set up for him to play his way as opposed to him slotting into a system that isn’t his strength. If DM doesn’t think the lad suits our style or he brings enough then he goes. If he goes somewhere else and suits them then fair play to the lad.

I'd imagine Max was also a victim of Covid here too. In normal circumstances I wouldn't have been surprised to see him get another year.

I didn't think he'd go and make the impact he has done but I did like what I saw of him in the brief time we saw him in a Rovers shirt. Thought his movement and awareness was very good.

In other ex-players news, Andy Williams scores again at Cheltenham (assisted by May) and is level with Waters for the season on 4 goals.

John Marquis now has 5 and is League One’s second top scorer.

Kieran Sadlier was benched for the 4th game in a row and Herbie Kane failed to make it off the bench for Barnsley. Loan moves in January? 😉

I just noticed that Cambridge have a player on 11 goals for the season so far.
