Most managers can’t count hound. 

No seriously, i think they never seem to count the actual day of the first match of the sequence.
It is not just Darren, this happens all the time when managers are interviewed.
It just feels like 6 days to them but as you say it is of course 7

Just looked hound at the preview of today’s match on Rovers web site and guess what it says  “3 matches in 6 days”

the lad on radio Sheffield said it twice on the interview before, it's as if they are already making excuses for a poor performance based on a misleading fixture schedule.
Cue the hectic Xmas schedule BS being rolled out in every interview shortly..  When it reality, we've often played more games in November and January..,

No, it's just a common misconception when people work it out in their heads, as if the day in question doesn't count so it's only 6 days, when of course it's 7.

There's certainly no conspiracy between journalists, local press or the manager.
