Possible flooding?
« on January 20, 2021, 11:38:20 pm by River Don »
Absolutely chucking it down right now in York. The Ouse was already over it's banks early this afternoon, it well be very high by the morning.

They are evacuating people from some properties in Manchester and Liverpool apparently.

This once in a hundred year event is becoming a once a year event.

And now it's turned to snow. Is that a good thing or a bad thing I wonder?

It looks like there's snow in the rain here in Bentley, but Alexa says ist's not snowing so it can't be!

And now it's begining to settle a bit. Hopefully this will carry on, at least it will slow down the rate at which the rivers are rising.

I blame Boris!

Why, just because he is the leader of the party who have cut thousands of staff and reduced funding for the EA since they have been in power despite continually worsening annual weather events?

Just thought I'd get in before you, Mr Wilts! You never disappoint! I didn't have to be so quick to beat you to it when we got flooded in 2007, ironically!

I hope we don't have a bad night. I dread to think what tomorrow may bring.

The River levels have stopped rising, its just a matter of how long they stay at peak levels

Be careful or someone will accuse you of political point scoring for pointing out the castrophic results of Tory governments policies.

Hope everyone is OK. Bit damp around here but nothing like you have.

Is that overflowing into that overspill area Filo.
Also, isn’t the Don tidal, which could also take the level higher, couldn’t it.

Dont know if you have noticed BB but either someone has hacked into your account or is is pretending to be you on another thread - as they have posted something about not falling out with other posters.

I would go see to them if I was you - it will ruin your image...

Yes it is, if you inow the area, you’ll see the old Don bank behind the overspill

Wilts, do I detect you are trying to turn this thread into an argument about arguing?
