Funnily enough, when Whiteman was on his way out, a former Sheff Wed and WBA players name sprung to my mind. Sure I heard he left another club recently but not sure what his fitness status was/is but has a sweet left foot.

I could be way off the mark mind. Anyway, I like surprises!

Hoden said no one has mentioned the two names he's been told, which would support the theory it'll be people we'd never think we'll sign.

Chris Brunt agreed to settle his contract with Bristol City a couple of weeks ago with an injury ruling him out for the rest of the season...if that’s who you meant?!

Did Liam give a clue away In his video Q&A he’s just done tonight... with his reaction Idd guess one of the player's initials is JB... He also said 1 player is a free transfer while the other is from another club. He also said Both players are what you would  class as experienced players

Yes. That explains it.. Unless he's made a miraculous recovery!

I wouldn't worry, my understanding is the two deals are a lot closer than that article suggests.

Does that mean one or both have already been training with us?

Yes.

That must mean it’s John Bostock then.

John Barnes is a bit past it isn't he?

Funny that! Maybe most right footed players are expected to be good with it!?

I've just googled him, Gaz, and he certainly fits the profile of everything that's been said today.

He looks a hell of a player as well, and would be a perfect replacement for Ben.

My only doubts are that he seems to be a bit of a journeyman.

John Bostock, when signed on FM 2009, used to turn into a very good player. Not that that's owt to go by.

Gary Woods and Lewis Guy both play for England when Rovers reach the Prem in that version.

Bostock was going to be the next big thing after going to Spurs. Think Barcelona wanted him back then as well.

A very long time ago now that, mind.

The hairy bearded one. One that always seems to get under our skin when we play them.

Interesting!

Donny Baz Rover,

I always thought it was a wand of a left foot....

JB is quite religious apparently - so might fit into DM's parish..

I think you're talking about Martin Brayford, Baz. Gazlaz and I were talking about John Bostock, a different proposition to Brayford altogether.

Bostock was regarded as world class at one time; even linked with Barcelona.

The hairy bearded one that I believe Baz meant, based on someone saying that we're interested in signing a Burton player.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Bostock. Very much your everyday journeyman, but loads of experience.

F*cking hell, how did I manage to do that?

At the moment, I'm stood in the corner with a pointed hat that has the letter "D" on it.

Judging by what Forest fans have commented about him on Twitter, he potentially could be a very good signing. Most wanted them to sign him permanently after his loan spell finished.
