Balcombe
« on January 26, 2021, 11:59:47 pm by Prez »
Admittedly he didnt have alot to do tonight, but for me hes the best out of the 3 keepers we have had this season. Easily commands his area better, good shot stopper and his distribution is good also.

Special mention for that punch clearance in the last few minutes, was quality. No messing. Ave it!

You can see why Brentford rate him highly.

I agree, so far he looks the best of the three and has some really good traits. That kick out of his hands in the first half that he sent 70 yards into the right channel of the opposition penalty area, which Okenabirhie got on the end of, was nothing short of sublime.

Very impressive!

Noted that he is now confident enough to come out of his box to play the ball like and outfield defender.

I sit much more comfortably  watching  corners into our box now he is between the sticks .Takes me back to the feeling I got watching Sullivan .

I liked the look of him straight away. He will be in the Premier League in a few years with or without Brentford.

He’s a good keeper, distribution is his biggest weakness but that’s something that he can work on.

He’s better than the other two we’ve had this season by some distance I think.

He has some of the qualities Seny had and you can tell he could have an impact in the championship, hopefully it is with us on another loan next season

Why do you guy’s keep dismissing Jones. From what I have seen he has done very little wrong yet seems to always be ignored in favour of loan keepers. Give him more opportunities and he would certainly get even better.

His distribution is great IMO.
He pings the ball out 50 yards to players feet with great confidence.
That punch out late on showed he doesn’t mess about either.

You can tell why Brentford gave him a new long term contract looks like he could go on to play at the highest level.

If he keeps punching crosses like that then the opposition strikers are just going to let him have it. Try and win a header and go to hospital with no face left or let the keeper have it - not a big decision is it.

When he comes for it he comes for it. Whether catching or punching. Very decisive in all he does.
Got all the attributes to be a top keeper.
That punch late on was brilliant. He took out everything in front of him to make sure he made good contact with the ball.

What about the nonchalant catch of the ball from a shot 2nd half, most keepers would have tipped it over the bar

The penalty was rash and he shouldn't have been out there to make the challenge although I thought he got the ball I may be wrong. However he's got a real presence about him and his little antics before both pens gave him the phycological edge. Easily Mom behind Wright

He is going to be a future premiership keeper, reminds me of when we had a young Sam Johnstone on loan.

Nearly gave 3 away at the end though, but a level above the other loanee keepers we’ve had this season
