Interesting that DM says PELANTY, instead of penalty.
In the past I have heard Chris Waddle and Paul Gascogne say it like that but both are geordies.

To me it makes the result today that bit sweeter knowing the manager wasnt happy with the performance and also with James and Balcombe's challenges for the pens.

I know they gave away penalties but james wasn’t reckless and id turn a blind eye to it as he’s been immense
Also with Balcombe it wasn’t particularly reckless but at the time i thought he was gonna make it, then i realised he wasnt then its either a case of follow it through like he did or back pedal in to no mans land
Easier to accept as he saved them so happy days lol

I accept James's as it was a split second decision and one you would probably expect any player to give away anywhere on the pitch but Balcombe..... no excuses. Idiotic challenge, he knew the player was clear favourite before he left his 6 yard box. You saw it coming a mile off. But hes been fantastic and made up for it.

In Balcombe's defence, he's young and learning still, and I'm betting he felt absolutely pumped up and unbeatable after that first penalty save.  His confidence may have got the better of him.

Lessons learned from every game for the lad. That's how it is.

With a manager like that, how an we possibly go wrong?

He ‘s looking forward to this next week and who wouldn’t be after that performance!

From what he, says you get the feeling he's meticulous in his preparation and uses feedback for every player to highlight little details to work on.

This is the reason we see the improvement we do and you can tell he relishes the time on the training pitch.

Looks like Matt Smith has taken up the mantle of dead ball taker and we actually attacked the box from distance yesterday. His deliveries were pretty spot on including the cute one where just a touch from an onrunning player would have led to a goal.

Another full week coming up, another 10% improvement to come.

We've said before, there's not been much evidence of free kicks being practiced but yesterday the evidence was there, so I hope we start to see us being more dangerous.

Both penalties were questionable and the Lincoln boys know how to make the most out of challenges - being top in the League One penalties league.  I understand that BAFTA are sending a special award to Grant for two outstanding performances in a week - first to get Whatmough sent off for Portsmouth in midweek, and secondly for his exaggerated dive in winning a penalty against us yesterday.  Thankfully he isn't as good at taking them - having missed two already...

The one he missed against Peterborough other week was great. Think it got popped on the Spire of the Cathedral.

I liked his answer to the question.......”and what do you think that does in the context of the league?”

Answer: “It’s a win, that’s all, it’s a win”.

IN TERMS OF the season Darren Moore is the outstanding man.

Also with Balcombe it wasn’t particularly reckless but at the time.....

Wasn't reckless?  He runs to the edge of the area, nowhere near goal as the striker is heading to the corner flag and dives in practically feet first? And you wouldn't call that reckless?

It was absolutely reckless. Yes he saved the penalty but as DM said, he created the problem for himself.

great answer. We get the same 3pts as when we beat Wimbledon etc..,  every player on every interview has absolutely been drilled down to be on the same page.  Next game, focus, nothing else matters..  Nothing is won in January.   The mindset is spot on!

You can only play one game at a time. That has to be the mindset of the Manager, coaches and players and it certainly is at Rovers under this manager.

It’s only us supporters that look further ahead. Some of us are talking as though we are almost promotion certainties.
There will be no talk of that at Cantley Park or the Keepmoat.

It is right about the three points but when you get them against a close rival it can make more of a difference. Yesterday we not only got three points we denied Lincoln getting any but using a game up. As we played them it also meant our goal difference went up as theirs went down.
Had we won and Lincoln played some other team they might have also won. Us losing to Wigan,Crewe, Shrewsbury etc. is disappointing but doesn't allow them to leap frog us or draw further away.
Beat your closest rivals or draw and hopefully have blips against teams that don't hurt you too much. It's not long ago Accrington would have overtaken us with matches in hand, our run has put us in a very good place.
Anyway long may our run continue.

If we draw our up and coming matches with Hull, Portsmouth, Posh, Accrington then they will be good results as you say Idler.
If we are going to lose a couple let it be against teams that are not going to hurt us.

Such as Fleetwood who are sinking fast. Having said that I would love to beat them at their place. Surely this season is the one we do it.

It will be because we wont be there to see it.
