Confirmed that he is out of Wednesday's World Cup Qualifier at Wembley, due to a knee injury.

Good news for England fans. Bad news for football fans and England Haters.

Great news for us. I imagine Stones and Maguire will be sleeping a bit more soundly the next few days.

He’s not the player he was 3/4 years ago. Kane is miles better than him.

He doesn’t have to be the player he was 3 or 4 years ago against Maquire

Yeah, very poor that.
Not bad for someone not at his best.

After that second half performance, I think we were lucky that he wasn't playing.

Where would we be if we weren't so effective from set pieces?

For a change (for England) I thought it was a good game to watch - helped a great deal by the referee, who seemed to let the game flow and didn't buy into the amateur dramatics of some players.  We could (and should) have put it to bed in the first half - and if it wasn't for Stones' cock-up I think it would have been a routine win.

That game could've been played until next weekend and I think we'd still be waiting for Phillips to put a decent corner in! Noticed how we scored from a Foden corner?!

I agree, Metalmicky. Bjorn Kuipers is one of, if not, the best referee around at the minute. That is the first game of football I have watched in full and enjoyed for the first time since the end of last season. Although I don't understand why Roy Keane is a pundit for England games, I agreed with him at HT.

Tough game in Hungary next and Poland away won't be nice - especially if the fans and Lewandowski are back, but boy, we've got some talent in that squad, especially up top.

Good post MM.
Stones did cock up but overall he had a very good game and did well to get that header back into the mix for our winner.
I noticed how the team made a point of going to Stones after that goal too.
Mason Mount continues to impress me too, he is becoming a fantastic player.

Good to see that the Germans lost at home to TLONM.
