Question for Martin. The DFP article states that AB will be interviewed as part of club policy. Does this mean he's part of the 8, or in addition to the 8?

Yes, that's correct.

That Rob is like something a politician might say.
It doesn’t give a clear response to either of the questions in that previous post.

Maybe Dino Maamria could be a candidate.

I thought that. Appears to be a good number two to JFH.

Winning "silverware" can surely only mean one thing for a manager in our range. They've won the Papa John's Trophy.

Wellens, Heckingbottom, Jackett and Danny Wilson have all won it.

Nick, do you think I didn’t know that.
Don’t be so serious.

or it’s because they’ve won a league title

Wellens in to 2/1. Does this indicate an interview maybe? SM has previously said he won’t get the job though.

I'm sure Hoden did a post a few weeks back saying he could see Wellens getting the job.

I wasn't keen on Wellens but after seeing some of the other names banded about he may actually be one of the better options.

He was the very obvious candidate. Potential clash of personalities was hinted at though.

As I recall, when questioned on this, SM qualified his remark saying it was his personal opinion, although his initial remark did appear to be based on inside knowledge.

I saw him helping an old lady across the road in Skellow.  Big on community is Richie.

Wellens overtaken Heckingbottom into 2nd place. Quite a few have dropped too.

The betting market says to me that things have been kept very quiet so far. We know there are 8 interviewees, but the odds don’t in any way reflect that there are 8 contenders way above anyone else. Wilson is evens but I honestly don’t see him being a candidate. Expecting some major shifts next week when the second interviews are confirmed.

I've heard the name of a reported interviewee, not on any betting list, but I wouldn't be excited by him. Not going to name him, but at least it's not Steve Evans.

Rovers have kept the list secret, but given there's eight people, the odds of the betting list being totally wrong are unlikely, if only for the fact there is probably a financial crossover between the bookies list and Rovers.

There is some distance in the odds between Wilson, Wellens and Heckingbottom, and then the rest of them. Odds on anyone beyond these three are very attractive. For someone to be a leading contender beyond this group, their odds are going to have to very dramatically come in now. It is a leap from 7/2 to then 16/1 for the fourth guy named. If you have money on anyone beyond these three above, then you are going to make a killing here as the odds are huge.

I’ve got no insight whatsoever but despite his rough edges, the need for someone to come in and read the riot act to this lot plus Wellens having two spells and bringing his kids to the Copps reunion match, does suggest we are not just any old club on his career record. Total guess, but given the other two in that group, I would say Wellens is our next guy.

I know richy is not really seen as a community man but he is trying to look that way , that’s what I mean by the comment

Why say something if your not going to name him ?
