Stephen Robinson I assume.

Not Theo?

Anne?
Swiss Family?
Crusoe?

Ha! No, none of them have been previously connected to the club

Butler has just said he’s got through to the 2nd round of interviews. No offence to Butler but how on earth has he got through the that stage. Doesn’t say much about the quality of candidates

Listen to the interview, he never said he had got through to the second round, he said there will be a second round of interviews next week, a subtle difference, he also acknowledged results haven’t been good enough

Just goes to show how rumours spread doesn't it. Butler says "we've" got second interviews clearly referring to the club/the process , all of a sudden he's being treated as the front runner by the fans.

SM, any indication on whether Boothroyd is in the running? He's probably the only candidate who worries me.

He might not be as we actually don’t know who the candidates are.

Whoever the board are interviewing i trust them to make the right final choice.
The important thing this time is there is a serious penalty clause in the contract if he decides to to leave us and go to a so called “ bigger club “like Sheff Wed or Hull City“

Can't say. But there's no need to be worried!

I know odds can mean anything at this stage but it’s still concerning to see Boothroyd as favourite for the job

Surley boothroyd can’t be in consideration with his track recording of majorly underachieving in his last 2 jobs.

If it’s boothroyd we’ll be signing our relegation, he’s been out of the leagues for too long.

His record with England U21s was abysmal too.

He can’t really be judged in the England job,
It’s a job where all your best players leave immediately.
The full England squad is full of players that by rights should be playing for the under 21s

Of course you can. He still had an incredibly strong squad.

Read what SM wrote - Post 462. I am entirely relaxed about Mr Boothroyd.

His under 21 side play other under 21 sides who face the exact same issue. From a results perspective he’s completely underachieved, and I doubt that the more recent graduates like Foden, Mount etc would suggest that Boothroyd had any great input into their development.

Wellens won't be manager. Sure I saw something similar. Maybe wrong though.

Other countries take players to major under 21 tournaments that are now with the full squad
We’ve never done that

Whatever tournament he's been to he's still had one of the top 4 squads despite missing some players and has always underachieved.

The under 21s haven’t won a major tournament for 40 years,
Although boothroyd won the Toulon tournament which is classed as a major tournament

It's already been pointed out in this thread that he had a very strong squad this year. I'm not sure why you're ignoring that.

Either way, it sounds like he won't be getting the job.

I’m not ignoring it,
A strong squad compared to what?
Germany’s? Spain’s? Portugal’s?

That squad consists of only 1/2 players who play regularly in the prem,
That’s not the case for other countries
