Andy Butler

Performances have picked up since Butler picked himself in the team. Perhaps that was the big part of what was missing. Another good centre half.

With a chance to sign the right players could Butler do well in a management position for the Rovers? Would you give him another chance?

Sure we've seen a terrible run of results. I for one would still be happy to see him in charge - with an experienced assistant manager.

Anyone else happy to see Butler as the Rovers manager next season?

I'd like to see him as assistant or coach perhaps, I think he could still be a future manager with more experience.
I wouldn't be gutted if he was still manager next season though, the set up certainly needs to help him out if so.

Andy knows himself that he hasn't shown enough to expect an extension to his time as manager.

I'd like it if he could find a role within the new coaching structure but if and where will be down to the new man.

Our defence has been better, but it's still been rubbish. I'd like Butler to be a defensive option next season and maybe a coach unless he's going back to the Belles, but no I certainly don't want him to get the manager's job full time at this stage. He hasn't done enough to earn it at all.

I wouldn't mind the New Zealand lad or Butler, the rest on all the lists I have seen the only thing the others are more experienced in is getting the sack for failing as managers elsewhere.
Sod set off with a poor set of results in his first managers job.

Assistant manager for Butts would be my preference.
Only problem is who ever gets the job may wish to bring in his own man.

If he had a really proven experienced assistant with him the you never know it could work out. But he will need some help, lots of it that is for sure.

I wouldn't want Butler as manager I dont think he has done anywhere near enough. I would have Butler as a coach within the academy whilst he is a contracted player next season.

Personally i can't see the board going through all this process wasting peoples time  , just to eventually give it to AB , IMO.

I would like the next manager to be the best person for the job.

I would also like that person to have the freedom to choose whoever he wants on his team because he feels they are the best people in that job.

Any attempt to do otherwise - and force people to work with others they don't know or trust will only lead to problems.

25% win ratio; that's very poor.

Plus, people are waiting with excitement to see who the next guy will be. If it's AB, I can't see season ticket sales being anything other than abysmally low.

Despite some decent quality in our squad it's obvious the midfield has no structure.  That tells me there's a management problem.  It's a No from me.

There's not a chance in hell Butler gets it. He took over a side in 4th place and has since overseen one of the worst runs in our history. I've not looked at the table in a while but I'd assume we're around 13th. Yes it wasn't just down to him but he’s not done a good job.

How could anyone be pleased if he was appointed

Yes, AB with Copps as his Mr Motivator on and off the pitch.

Copps has made it clear over and over again. he has no interest in coaching.
Then how can you manage without coaching qualifications or the desire to teach or train or get your tactics over the players . I think that part IS called coaching !!

Very sorry is too difficult!
Butler “ I’ve no interest in coaching “ so he doesn’t want to manage then ? Because they go hand in hand as they are not mutually exclusive!

I have to ask since-1969...do you think Butler's nickname is "Copps"?

Think he’s confused the comment about coops not wanting to do coaching for been about Butler. Obviously Butler wants to coach and manage but the post was about coops and how often he’s said it’s not for him

From what I’ve seen putting “Butler” and “coach” in the same sentence should only be used when he gets a job taking kids on school trips.
