Contracted Squad

Since the Free Press have one of those list articles on it, I thought it worth discussing the current state of our squad a bit. It really does feel like the new manager and Graham Younger have a bit of a blank canvas to work off of.

13 players contracted, all but two only for next next season,  and of those I'd class 6 as younger pros yet to establish themselves.

That's it. I know some others may yet stay but aside from Anderson and Fey, maybe JT as well, there is very little that the new manager can feel confident building a strong XI around in my opinion. However, that may be a good thing if said new manager has a lot of fresh ideas in how he wants to approach things.

I agree with that RA, Liam calls them all senior players.
Yet in his article about DM it was not having enough senior players
LJ 22, CS 20 did not play RB last season, CJ 21 overlooked when AB was manager, BH 20 only just broke into side, AJG 20 just broke into side, HL 19 hardly played since leaving U18s. So 40+ games a season none of the above as achieved that. So to balance the squad we need another 9 who have achieved 40+ league games a season for our squad of 22. With developing and loan players supporting them. A lot of wheeling and dealing to be done to add to TA, FO and JT that’s if Anderson doesn’t leave.

According to Liam they  classed as senior players because they have signed senior contracts. Yet they have all got less experience than the loanees we had last year and DM was critised for their experience. Let’s hope we do sign some senior players not just in name only.
