3rd tier with Sunderland, Sheff Wed, Ipswich, Portsmouth, Bolton and the mighty Rovers in it next season. 5 Footballing giants. Oh and Wigan have recently been a Premier league Club.

Given that only three teams go up there are going to be some long faces at some of the bigger clubs next year. There could be some serious financial cut backs at one or two as well.
Sunderland were really poor 2nd half. Cut McGeady out and Wyke gets very little service. One trick pony team.Lincoln woke up and should have scored 2 more goals at least.
The longer Sunderland are in the league one it's less likely they will be attracting better, more costly players. They have 13 players out of contract including the likes of McGeady, Wyke, Power and O'Niens. Be interesting to see what their squad looks like at the start of next season

And to think on two occasions we could have had Appleton as our manager

League 1 is going to be very competitive next season with even Wycombe & Rotherham being a threat, in my view.Of the teams coming up from L2, I can only see Bolton having the resources to have a real go, no disrespect to the others.I’d rather Blackpool beat Lincoln, then we have another fairly local side to play twice next season. So, Lincoln, Oxford and Sunderland will all still be with us, along with the 3 Championship sides plus Bolton from L2. Then there’s the usual top 10 sides like Pompey, Ipswich and Charlton. That’s 10 Clubs and I havn’t mentioned us yet - it’s going to be a tougher than normal league next season, for sure.

Be interesting to see what their squad looks like at the start of next seasonWe always perform terribly against them. The away game this season was arguably the most embarrassing performance since 2015/16. I can only hope McGeady and Wyke move on this summer.
