« on May 25, 2021, 03:09:46 pm by the vicar »
Hi just like to let you know that my chemotherapy has now finished For now.  Now I have been invited to go to Oxford for a pioneering way they do Radiotherapy and the hospital are paying for my wife and I to stay in a hotel for 10 days for the treatment, but it won’t be a holiday lol.  I am feeling good at the moment so I have decided to have a season ticket for next season and looking forward to it just hope we get some new good players in so here’s to a geed new season

Asking a Skella lad to keep fighting, like asking The Pope if he's Catholic
You'll beat it Dave, no problem

I’m very nervous about going for the trial as I have never been through it before and it takes 90 minutes to complete in a MRI scan machine they are as noisy as hell lol

Just treat it as another tough away fixture and think of all of the others you and the Rovers have had and come back smiling.

Mri's are ok Dave I've had 3 at different times. My backs so full of titanium now I'm worth a fortune :)    Its just a sort of weird clanking and banging and you may get a warm feeling on the bit thats being scanned at the time, it'll probably so many bouts of for example 10/15/20 minutes a time so you can relax for a minute in between, you'll have a button in youre hand to stop them at any time  Just go to sleep :) but you need to stay still.

it’s not like that this time mate I have had them before but this is anMRI SCAN  and radiotherapy that is the bit I’m scared of as I have never had that, it’s a new pioneering think it’s a trial thing at the moment

I know where you are coming from Dave but you'll smash it. My wife had to have chemo and radiotherapy at the same time ( not rare but fairly uncommon ) due to the type of very aggressive bowel  cancer a double whammy !!

My wife had chemo in between bouts of radiotherapy. It was the chemo side effects that destroyed her, although thankfully only temporarily. Here we are 10 years later and she's back to her fighting weight and in control of me again.

Thank God.
